Mother and Father

Today has double meaning for me because not only is today Father’s Day, but it is also my Mother’s Birthday!

Happy Birthday to my mom, she is one of the most strongest and inspirational women I know. I am blessed to have a mother who always guides me, teaches me right from wrong, gives me unwanted advice that I usually always take, and has been there for me in my darkest moments to give me the light and love to help guide me through the storm.

I am so proud of my mom for everything she has gone through and being an amazing mother and role model to myself and my brothers, she is not here for us to celebrate her birthday because she is on deployment in the Navy! We cant wait to see when she gets back next month!

It is Father’s Day and my dad just moved down to Florida, so he is not here either! Like my mother, he is such an inspiration. This man has gone through so much and fights on like a soldier, never stoping and never giving up. He has been a powerful person in my life and has been there for me when I really needed help and helped find me when I was lost. I am my father’s only child, and totally a daddy’s girl!

I am so blessed to have both these people in my life to love me and support me unconditionally. Thank you to both of you for making me who I am today.

I love you both!

I hope you all have a great day on this beautiful Sunday!

Fathers and Mondays

I cant remember what I did yesterday, that's how tired I am right now. All I know is yesterday was Father's Day. I remember making waffles, eggs and cinnamon rolls. Jermie and I went and visited my dad. We brought him these porcelain eagle figurines we found at a vintage store because he LOVES eagles. He loved them!

When I was over there, he had this photo on his end table, and I couldn't resist taking a quick photo.

I was I think 14 in this picture. I had just moved back to Virginia from Lakeland, Florida. I think I look more like my dad, especially in this photo. In this photo, we just got done driving from Florida. I spent every summer there growing up. Some of my favorite memories of my father and I were from roadtrips to and from Virginia to Florida.

This Monday went by fast! Work was quick, I even made a sale today (Yay!) After work, one of my good friends and client came by so I could highlight her hair. We got to test out my portable sink, she was my crash tester.  That was interesting and fun.....

I was able to squeeze in a quick workout on the elliptical and now, I am falling asleep writing this and my attention span is all over the place. I'm finishing up watching Forrest Gump too, that I rented from the library...one of my favs. If you have never watched it, then you dont know what your'e missing!

ok, off to bed because I think I stopped making sense a couple paragraphs ago,
