I need a lil less caffeine right now

I don’t know if it’s the amount of coffee I have drank today, which was only 2 cups, or that I ate a few sugar cubes through out the day, or that I started taking green tea supplements again, but I have an insane amount of energy right now and it is going on 2AM!!!! I promise, I am not on anything besides caffeine, but for some reason since the moment I woke up today, I have been in my art room just pumping out work. I love days like this! I can only hope that I can keep up this productivity.

Last weekend, I wanted to share with you a few pics from a NATO festival the family and I went to, where Jermie dressed up as a live bush! Sounds weird, but it was pretty awesome. Check out this quick video I filmed and see if you cant get a chuckle out.

They had tents set up from each country and they all handed out pamphlets, maps, flags, yummy snacks and all sorts of free goodies to promote travel to their countries and to learn more about each country. It made me want to take a vacation right then and there! If only I had the Tardis, we could all go. hahaha

I cant believe it is already MAY! wowzers! This month, I have tons of facepaint gigs, tattoo drawings and even a few sewing and backdrop projects, and not to mention I’ll be participating in a flash mob. Im super excited!

I worked on two custom drawings, which I will post when they are finalized, but I am really proud of myself for pushing through and focusing on my art. I feel it is really starting to pay off.

I may have already posted this video, but I have been watching it over and over because I feel really inspired by Sara Fabel and I love the videos she posts. She just is a real down to earth girl.

I took some tips from her in this video in regards to my artwork. I like to draw my artwork big, only because I love the details in it. She also kinda opened my eyes to using photoshop to help edit your work and to make it much more crisp and sharp and making it easier to design sleeves of bigger pieces that have more designs in it. It makes it easier to scan in your work and then it is easy to arrange them in how the client will want them. So, I practiced with this piece:

This was hand-drawn, nothing traced, I drew them separately, uploaded them to photoshop and then separated them and arranged them to look like this:

I am still trying to figure out photoshop and learn how to make the lines better, but this is a start. I am starting to put together my portfolio in a professional way instead of a binder or loose paper. I checked out some of these online from my favorite art supply store, Jerry Artorama: (way cheaper than AC MOORE, or Micheals)

I rearranged my studio as well, so I think that also has me moving around more, I have more space to get things done. I practiced again on an orange just because I was feeling a lil restless and wanted to practice my color with a 5mag shader….I have a slight issue when I was squeezing the blue into an ink cap, the tip busted open and blue ink went EVERYWHERE! hahaha Luckily, I had a medical sheet laid out, so it was an easy clean up- otherwise my white desk would be a blueberry blue right now. hahaha

I really cant wait to get an apprenticeship, but for now as I build up my portfolio, Ill stick to this for right now

I still have a ways to go!

Well, I think my brain is starting to shut down a bit as my eyelids are getting droopy and this dubstep music that was once waking me up has now turned into a lullaby. Goodnight my creative friends! See ya tomorrow!

Broken Camera and Busch Gardens

Saturday, while out with the family, as I started taking pictures of everyone.....the one thing you do not want to happen to ANY electronic device..happened to me. Yup, my clumsy self dropped it. EPIC FAIL! To make it worse, the camera was on with the lens zoomed out, and I dropped it right on the lens causing it to break the motor. I swear, when it dropped, I was like in SLOW-MO...yelling "Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!

I have had that camera for almost 2 years, it was a gift from my husband for Christmas. Now I am cameraless...but I still have my bloggie which I can use, the only thing is that it does not have a flash button and it does not take good pics inside or at night. But it takes good images and videos in good light. So I will have to make due until I get an IPAD. hahaha

Here are the few images I got to take before my pink sony died. We went to an amusement park....can you guess where? If youre not from around Virginia Beach, you prolly wont guess, but we went to BUSCH GARDENS, voted the World's Most Beautiful Theme Park!

My mom treated the kids to tickets to Busch Gardens now that everyone is back home. My mom, along with myself do not really ride rollercoasters. I used to be able to, but the past few years, my stomach cannot handle going up and down, and upside down. Everyone else, including my hubby loves them.

Hubby with my cousin Alec and Lucas (behind Jermie) :)
Arabella and Matthias have never been there before, so I was excited to share this with my family. We were missing a few family members, but hopefully next time everyone can join us. The kids rode all sorts of ride for "little people" and I was surprised that they both rode "Escape from Pompeii" which is a huge water ride.

We were all drenched afterwards. The first time I rode it, me and Matthias rode it and Arabella got us with the water gun on the side when the boat comes down. When they went on it again with my cousin and brother, Jermie and I got them ALL with three water guns. hahaha  We went on Roman Rapids, which is another wet ride, and we were needless to say, soaking wet.

There was also the new Verbolten Ride and MACH Tower which are the two newest rides to the park. I didnt ride them, but maybe next time when its just hubby and I. Kinda hard to do the big rides when the kiddos wanna do all the kiddie stuff.

It was a fun day. The lil zombies were sooo tired too after a day of walking. Matti had a 3 hour practice for football so he was pretty grumpy when it was time to go home.

That was how we spent our saturday, just good times with the family! What did you do this weekend???

Water rides and themeparks,

Motorworld Go Karts Fun

Jermie and I took the kids last friday night out to have some fun since the weather was really nice. We grabbed some junkfood at Mickey D's ( Mcdonalds) to get some food in our stomachs. I know I know, not very healthy, but I am a junk food junky and I love their fries and chicken nuggets-so leave me alone. hahaha

Jermie trying to figure out Matthias's toy.
I had to sneak a cheesy photo in here somewhere

Then we made our way down the street to Motorworld, which is connected to Ocean Breeze waterpark, but its not open yet. Motorworld is a place I used to go as a kid with my family. There's go karts, kids rides, minature golf, paintball and water bumper boats. We only had an hour since they close when it gets dark...in the summer they are open later of course for tourist season. We got the kids wristbands that lets them ride all the kid stuff unlimited for an hour.

I think Matti is gonna grow up to race cars or bikes...anything that is fast. He loved it so much
Bella gokart was a lil jerky and kept going fast at random times. I caught this and it just makes me laugh. She loved it too!
It was their first time doing go karts...which I am surprised their dad hasnt taken them, but it was definetly fun to share this with the kiddos and the hubby!

I didnt get a chance to catch Jermie driving the really really fast carts because I was too busy with the kiddos....but I am sure we will be back again sometime this summer and I will catch him driving on the Euro Track.

Theres lots of fun things were hoping to do this summer, this is just the beginning. What kind of summer fun do you and your family have planned this year? I would love to hear! Please leave a comment!

Family ZOO Time

Saturday afternoon the kids and I took Jermie to the airport, right now he is out in Arizona visiting his Dad, brother and the rest of his family he hasnt seen in a long time. He's only be gone for two weeks, but I miss him already. haha ok ok, enough lovey sappy-ness.

After the airport, the kids and I decided to take a trip to the Virginia Zoo in Norfolk. The kids recently went on a field trip there and wanted to take me. I havent been there since I nine years old I think. I barely remember it. It was nice to take advantage of the weather because now its rainy and cold!

Im only 6 weeks preggos and Im already showing!
I didnt realize how BIG the zoo was, we did a lot of walking around and I wish I had worn shorts, but I cant fit in any of them!

We saw all sorts of reptiles, birds, lions, giraffes, tigers and all sorts of other animals! We walked and explored gardens and took a train ride around the zoo. The kids were so excited for the train ride.

Arabella and her hat she just had to have from JCPenny's!
I am so thankful I brought my water bottle, I kept having to take lil breaks! We had icecream too which was sooooo yummy!

We wished Jermie couldve been there with us, but he will have to catch the next family outing when he gets back!

This lil momma needs to go to bed, I am going in for my check up and get everything set up with the doctors for this pregnancy!
