Elevators

I'm a huge believer that dreams have meanings. They have a way of telling us our past, present and future.  I love interpreting my dreams, and in a way they have guided me through the years. I want to share a story with some dreams I have been having the past 4 years.

Years ago, when my life was flipped upside down and out of control, I used to have reoccuring dreams of being in an elevator. The first dream I had, I was in this building. It was ran down, dark, dingy, water leaking and lights flickering. There were stairs on the left side and a broken elevator on the left. I was determined to go up the stairs, but with each step I took, the wood would fall through, preventing me from going up. So, I go towards the elevator and I climb in through the doors. As soon as I am inside, the elevator shoots straight up, sending my body into the air. When I gain control, the elevator plummets down and I wake up feeling as if I am falling. I would have this dream over and over for months.

When things got a lil better and I gained a better sense of who I was, the dream changed. I dreamt I was in the same building, but it was clean and everything was gold and marble. I was able to get into the elevator and ride it to the 17th floor. I worked out in the gym and rode the elevator back down. I knew that it was because I was headed on the right path. That dream was about 3 years ago. I figured my elevator dreams were over. Until a few nights ago.

A few nights ago, I dreamt I was in this HUGE elevator and inside were 5 other people and it didnt even seem like an elevator but this large room and we just kept going up...higher and higher. I looked up the meaning and this is what it said:

"To dream that you are ascending in an elevator represents a rise to status and wealth. You may have risen to a higher level of consciousness and are looking at the world from an elevated viewpoint. If the elevator is moving upward in an out of control fashion or it crashes through the roof, then it indicates that you are being catapulted to a position of power in which you do not yet know how to deal with. You are afraid of the new responsibilities ahead for you. Descending in an elevator suggests that you are being grounded or coming back down to reality. It also signifies setbacks and misfortunes.
In general, the up and down action of the elevator represents the ups and downs of your life. It also symbolizes emotions and thoughts that are emerging out of and submerging into your subconscious. Alternatively, the dream may have sexual connotations.
To dream that the elevator is out of order or that it is not letting you off symbolizes that your emotions have gotten out of control. It may be a reflection of your life or your career. You are feeling stuck in some aspect of your life, whether it is your career, relationship, etc.
To dream that the elevator is moving sideways means that your efforts are counterproductive. You are going nowhere in your work, relationship or other situation. "

I feel as if everything is happening for a reason and everything just feels right and on the right track. There's so much I am thankful for. I have gone through alot of of ups and downs, not really understanding why things happened. There is a bigger plan. I found this saying "Let Go and Let God" and I just love it. When I feel overwelmed, I have to let it all go.

I have an awesome job and I love working with some amazing people, doing hair and makeup and body painting, hubby and I just got a great 3 bedroom townhouse were about to move into and things just feel good. Nothing beats the feeling of confidence. I just feel so humbled.

I just wanted to share this with you and I hope you enjoyed it. Feel free to comment or share about your dreams and what they mean!

Thankful

I was having a bit of rough day today. I usually try to stay positive but every now and then I give in and have a "moment". It's the holidays and were having to look for a new place and that in itself is exhausting. Deposits, applications, fees, neighborhoods and the hassle of packing and moving and getting help to move it. Were not moving far from where we currently live, just need to move.

I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, so I know everything is gonna be ok, I just have to stay strong. In times like these, I usually reach out to friends and family for advice or just positive thoughts. My grandfather and I spoke a few days ago, and he told me "When ever you are feeling down, just remember all the things you have to be thankful for"

Those words pop up in my head everytime I get a lil down. And he's right. I usually tell people this myself, but when it comes to myself, I tend to need a lil reminding. I am thankful. I've had my fair share of crappy situations, especially around the holidays. I have alot to be thankful for. My family, children and friends are all healthy for the most part, I have a roof over my head, a car to drive, a job and I can go on and on. I have to remember to be thankful. I'm not just saying these things because Thanksgiving is around the corner, but I think it's good to be reminded what we have to be thankful for.

I havent been blogging the past few months, and many of my readers are wondering why. Things are just crazy. Im hoping after the holidays, it will calm down and I can get back into my routine blogging schedule. But for now, thank you for reading and visiting- especially those who read it all the time or who have been with me for a while. I appreciate that you take the time to read what I write. See you soon in the next post!

2 Months

I deserve the Biggest slap on the back of my hand for this one, for it has been close to 2 months if not more than 2 months since I have last blogged. Like, really??? Where has the time gone? I wish I could have an excuse, but we all know that life gets in the way, family emergencies and situations arise, stress from work and financial issues pop out of nowhere like a zombie from the Walking Dead and no matter how many times I shoot that zombie, it keeps coming back for more. I never get a break it seems. But through the rain..the sun finally shines and I am getting everything back on track.

It has been a hectic past couple of months. I have missed blogging so much!!! I have been going through serious withdrawls!!! I have so much to share, but I dont want to overwelm you with massive long posts. So I'll take it slow, just a lil. haha It's pretty bad when everyone starts asking why I havent updated in a while. Its nice to know I have readers that pay attention and enjoy reading what I post. Its a nice compliment and makes me feel appreciated and loved. So thank you to my readers!

I have been having a blast at my new job at Coucoon Signature Spa and Salon. I love it. I have been learning so much from my boss, and he is more than my boss, he is a mentor and I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to be apart of the family and learn from the best. We have such a great team too. I really enjoy coming to work everyday. I am building up my clientele and its such a pleasure to help men, women and their kiddos look and feel their best by cutting and styling their hair.

I am so happy that the FALL season is here! A LOVE CULTURE has just opened up here in my neck of the woods at my local mall and one nearby too. I have been getting these fabulous dresses from there! The prices are pretty reasonable too!

Ive been busy with the kiddos with Matthias in football too. Their season is almost over and he has done so well with his team! I am so proud of him that he has stuck it through and he is excited to play next year too!

On top of working at Coucoon, I also am a facepainter/body painter/makeup artist for an entertainment company and since it's October, I have been busy doing all sorts of facepainting events.
I managed to get a few photos of some gigs this past week.

Jermie (the hubby) and I have been good. It was rocky for a bit, but with any marriage, it always takes work! We have been great and been doing alot of fun stuff. We went to the Neptune Festival a few weeks ago with the kiddos and had a nice time. I actually got him a job with the entertainment company as a stilt walker too! He has been having a blast walking on those things. (I'll have to get those pics of him)

Our roomate was dogwatching this adorable SHIBA INU-which is the only dog I really want. We instantly fell in love with her. Sooooo stinkin cute. We are thinking about getting a puppy possibly for christmas. Look how cute she is!!!

Oh yea, and I turned 29 last month! I know I know, how could I forget to post about my BDAY....well, I didnt do much for my birthday. It was pretty lowkey and just went to OTANIS with my mom and my two aunts. They surprised me also with my new favorite, Icecream cupcakes from Cold Stone. YUM!!!!!

Ok, I think I got yall caught up for the most part. Sorry for the super long post, but I gotta make up for lost time. Hahaha.

I just got done watching The Walking Dead and paying some bills online. I hope yall had a good weekend and a good Monday morning. I will see you again soon!

New Do and New You

Since I have started at Coucoon Salon, I have just been so busy. I didnt want anyone to think I just dropped off the face of the earth, but I know yall know how it gets. I was getting readjusted to being back at work fulltime and balancing everything else! Bruce went ahead and gave me a new look and I love it. Its been a LONG time since I have had hair that is shorter than my shoulders, but I needed a change. What do you think?

It's already September! Can you believe it??? Where has the year gone? September 1st (Saturday) I celebrated my 29th Birthday! I spent it with family and a few friends, nothing too major. My family surprised me with my favorite Icecream Cupcakes from Cold Stone Creamery. They are sooooo delish!

My mom and my Aunt's took me to my Favorite Restaurant, OTANIS Japanese Steakhouse! SOOOOO good! I basically have to starve myself to finish my meal there hahaha.

I am really looking forward to the FALL Season. I am going to be a busy bee with work, Matti's Football, Bella's Soccer, facepainting jobs and a couple of weddings and formal events to go to, just writing about it is already making me exhausted. But I love staying busy, keeps me motivated.

It's Labor Day weekend so I am off to enjoy it. I hope yall do too! Be safe and Dont drink and Drive, if you are in the Virginia Beach area, the Police are in full force! So be careful!

"Wouldn't it be nice if we could never make a mistake? Actually, making mistakes is crucial to living a good life. There is no way to gauge if we have or if we are doing the right things in life, if we have never messed up in our lives. Mistakes are simply part of who we are and what we do as human beings. We have to be able to accept that we make mistakes, and we have to be willing to use every mistake that we have made, and turn it into a positive, instead of not learning from our mistakes, and committing the same ones time and time again. If you didn't have the right to make any mistakes, then you wouldnt have the right to do anything at all because no one is perfect. Don't fear making mistakes, fear not learning from the mistakes you have made."- Search Quotes

Coucoon

This week has been busy busy busy and on the go! I cant remember if I told you all, but I did get the job at Coucoon Signature Salon and Spa! I started this Tuesday and it has been amazing. I have been working side by side with the well known stylist Bruce Ross. I love everyone I work with and the guests as well!

With that being said, let me tell you a little bit about Coucoon! It is located in the Hiltop North Shopping Center in Virginia Beach.

Bruce has  developed an amazing line of hair care. It is sold exclusively here at the salon and will be available online as well.

"The Chrysalis line of shampoos and conditioners from Coucoon come in several formulas. Chrysalis 1 is for finer hair to give it fullness and healthy shine. Chrysalis 2 is for thick, curly or damaged hair. Both product lines are designed to be used daily and have wonderful exotic ingredients! Some of them include clotted cream from England to moisturize and control frizz, crushed flowers from Switzerland for shine and fruits from Northern Italy for volume. There's even a great Chrysalis treatment made from cultured pearls. Can you imagine the how glossy and beautiful that would make your hair?"

Coucoon also is the only salon that offers the Thai Silk Smoothing Treatment. It is a wax treatment applied to the hair and it lasts for up to 5 months.

Spa services are offered as well from classic manicures to Caviar Pedicures, facials, micro-dermabrasions, waxing services, massages and so much more. The website is being upgraded, but you can still see it at http://coucoon.com/.

Above is "Lady" who is relaxing in the Coucoon lobby. The atmosphere of Coucoon is peaceful and serene. The salon is modeled after many European style salons and spas and has the best, top of the line equipment so that you have a one of a kind experience!

Now that I am apart of the family, you can always schedule a service with me and let me transform you with the Coucoon Experience!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and I hope to see you at Coucoon!
