Blogging Party

I came across this blog I wanna say months ago and always enjoy reading the posts. So, as I am tucked in bed, reading blogs and commenting on them snuggled in my pjs while watching one of my favorite movies "You Got Mail", I got really excited that this blog,
The Crowley Party is hosting a Virtual Blogging Party.

So how does this work? Read below!

I included the original post on what it is and how you can participate in this!

2012 New Year Blogging Party!

HOSTED BY: Casey Danielle & Alycia

Today I have a fun treat for you all :) I wanted to do something fun to kick off 2012 in blog land and thought… “What could be better than a virtual blogging party?!”
&what kind of party would it be if there were not gifts involved?
So after some collaboration with some fellow bloggers, we wanted to start the year off right and do something that will help us all to connect and get to know each other better.
Each blogger who wants to participate will be randomly paired up with another blogger to do a gift exchange with! All packages must be shipped out so they can arrive to the other bloggers destination BEFORE January 31.
Then on January 31, 2012 we will all post about the other blogger we received a package from, and about the care package they sent us!
So where does the party part come in? Well you can all then link up the post you wrote onto all three of the hosts’ blogs, for one giant link up party!
The care package can be full of whatever you want to give! But we suggest keeping it simple, and would like to put a $10-$15 price cap on these packages. Just make it something small and fun, that you know would make another person’s day. Who doesn’t love getting something in the mail?
Try to get to know the other blogger, and send them something that will put a smile on their face. Maybe something to help them accomplish one of their New Year’s resolutions, or something only another blogger would appreciate? Be creative! If you are having trouble thinking of something, you can always e-mail one of us for some suggestions.
So how will this go down?
Any blogger who wants to participate will e-mail me their name and blog address. (the sooner the better!)
crowleyparty@yahoo.com
Each blogger will be randomly paired up with another blogger, and will receive that blogger's e-mail and web address.
It is then up to those bloggers to give each other their shipping address, so they can send each other a little care package! (try and get to know your new blogging friends!)
Make sure to ship out your care packages by an appropriate date, so that the other person will get their package BEFORE January 31, 2012.
Then make sure to write up a post about the person you met, and what they sent you! &Don’t forget to link it up to ALL THREE of the blog Hosts, to spread the love and meet tons of new bloggers!
Oh and here is a button if you guys want to spread the word on your blogs!

*just copy and past this code into an html widget on your blog!

Hope we can all meet some new people in the blog world, spread smiles with some gift giving, and have a great New Year of blogging in 2012!
I hope you join me in participating in this! I agree, its a great way to meet other bloggers and make new friends!

Jessie J Style Alert

Today while at work, I was reminded of Jessie J and her awesome, spunky, dark and sexy style! I watched her perform on the MTV VMA's, I think, where she had injureed her foot/leg and performed all while sitting in a throne like chair and man, she rocked it out! She was featured in some lil gossip magazine wearing this awesome dress- cleopatra/egyptian inspired dress, and I love it!

I love her asymetrical sheek black bob haircut and her style is one of a kind. Check out some of her other photos that I found online that are some of my fav!

Jessie J is def one of my big inspirations when it comes to female singers/artists and someone I relate to. Her fashion is so fresh, I bet the designer who dresses her has so much fun playing dress up with her! I know I would! hahahaha

Here is one of her videos that I love to watch over and over and she is so cute in it! Enjoy!

I hope you are inspired as much as I am with this amazing singer! :) Thanks for stopping by!

Once upon a SINGER

I was browsing a really cool blog a lil while ago, Alice's Closet, and she had posted about Singer 160th Anniversary LIMITED EDITION Sewing Machine. When I saw this picture, I literally STOPPED BREATHING. My brain had shut down. I dont think I ever reacted this way towards machinery before. I fell in LOVE..just like that.

If you share a passion for sewing and love the antique Singer sewing machines, you are gonna love this. A modern machine with an Ol' School twist. Designed similar to the Black and Gold Singer Machines like back in the early 1900s, this baby is computerized and digital and even threads itself!!!!

I immediatly looked it up on youtube and came across this video that goes over it features. And BONUS, the ladies have I think an Aussie accent, which I thought was cute. :)

I looked up a few things too on where I could get this baby, and if you cant afford the price of
Then you can enter for a giveaway that SINGER is having in honor of their 160th Anniversary!

All you have to do is share Singer Story for a chance to win this awesome machine!

I already shared my story! Here it is below to share with all of you!

"My great grandmother and I share the same name Cecilia. What I later found out is that we shared the same passion for sewing. Although I never met her I always felt a strong connection to her. I was told she had her own boutique in Brooklyn in the early thirties/fourties and that she made patterns out of newspapers. I was always intrigued by that. I dont remember who taught me to sew, I just know that I always knew how. I would watch my grandmother and my mother sew- of course all with a Singer Machine. When I was pregnant with my children, I would sit for hours in front of my machine creating baby blankets and fixing my jeans to fit my growing belly. When I served in the army, I used my singer to sew patches on my uniforms and that of my fellow soldiers. Now, I am the only one in my family that sews. My 8 year old daughter, Arabella asked me to teach her to sew and I am so excited to carry on the tradition. My son Matthias even wants to make something! I didnt sew for almost 4 years until very recently, and the second I started, I broke down in tears because it reminded me of my grandmother who passed 2 years ago. Her and I had such a bond and sewing time was another was we were close. I hope to live on for my great grandmother and my grandmother. I feel that sewing is in my blood and I hope that it continues to thrive in my family even after I am gone. That is my story! Thanks for letting me share!"

Now that you read my SINGER STORY, GO SEND YOURS IN!

GOOD LUCK my fellow Singer Seamstresses!

Underwater Photoshoot

A few weeks ago, at a meet and greet, I met a local photographer Dana Chapman and just last week, I was able to do some makeup for him during one of his Underwater Photoshoots with a model by the name of Nicole Lousie Roesh.  I was so excited to work on this photoshoot, I have never seen anything like it and I just fell in love with this type of photography. It is truly unique.

Oh and BTW, I only did the makeup for Nicole- not the other models!
I encourage you to explore his portfolio, I have included links to all his pages as well. He is in the local Virginia Beach/Hampton Roads area and if you are interested in doing this type of photography, contact him! Bring in the New Year

Happy New Year in 2012! I hope you all have brought in the new year with loved ones and friends.

My new years eve was a lil hectic, I was trying to finish up two sewing projects since my sewing machines were all broke! I have 3 sewing machines, and all 3 are broken. Like, really???? So, that set me back on alot of time and it really hurt me in the end. I was really frustrated with the pattern I chose for this dress and then having to add a liner was a pain. It ended up being too big for the client. UGHHH!!!

I will blog about this project later.... for those other sewing enthusiasts.

But to go back to My New Years, hubby and I rang in the New Year together with a few good friends.

My husband and I have spent many New Years Eve's alone or in tough times together and before we met. Last year we hung out with friends and had a good time, but this year, it was just amazing to see how far we have come in the past 3 years. Every year, it just seems to get better and better.

This New Years, Jermie and I really didnt make a resolution for ourselves. I dont know why we didnt, it just didnt feel right that we should. I am always setting goals and planning out things. I dont know where 2012 will take us. 2011 went by so fast. I met my New Years Resolution of 2011, and that was graduating from Paul Mitchell. This year, I want to save up for a house or a down payment on a house and to get my Business off and running. Jermie wants to get started in Automotive training.

What are your New Years Resolutions?
