Snowing in Spring

How is everyone’s week going? Tomorrow is Friday and I am so happy. It’s one day closer to my sister coming to visit me from Colorado!!! Dominique and I are not real blood sisters, but we pretty much adopted each other as sisters since neither of us have any sisters. I haven’t seen her in about 2 years. I am beyond geeked out excited.

I’ll be picking her up from the airport on Saturday! Saturday is going to be a jam-packed day for me. I have a facepaint gig in the early afternoon, picking up Nique and then were all going to Tia Rachelle’s Release Party to celebrate her new single “Walk Right Through It All” and for her starring in the play “If a man don’t work, a man don’t eat”

Next week, I will be doing stage makeup behind the scenes for this play, which I am so excited about. The last time I saw a play at Willett Hall was when my mother and I went and saw “It’s Cheaper to Keep Her” with Vivica A Fox and Brian Mcknight.

I ran a few errands today, mainly dealing with the hair show prop that I am finishing up. I actually received some good news today. I was supposed to do some body painting for the hair show next month, but my client is actually going to be going to the Bronner Brothers Hair Show in August and invited me to go along to do Special FX makeup and bodypaint! I am super excited!

As far as tattoo drawings, I have tons of work! At least 7 designs that need to be done! Here is one that I won tonight on

I also had time to edit a video tonight (hey I’m on a roll tonight!)

SO go check it out!

Here’s an update of things!

Well, it’s almost 200am, and lately that has been my stopping time for the night. I have a doctors appt tomorrow so I need to be bright eyed and bushytailed!

Goodnight and thank you for stoppin by!

xoxox, Cecilia

I know you are doubting yourself at the moment. I know you feel unsure and scared. I wish there was a way to make you understand that you will get through this. I know you will. I believe in you.

Monday Morning Makeup Kit

Good morning all! It’s Monday and if you’re like me, you’re already nursing a cup a coffee and trying to wake up and get motivated. I have my “Ellie Goulding” pandora station going to get me moving, and I’ve already gone through my emails and made my contacts for today for later gigs this week I have going on. I have a few errands today including a visit to the VA Hospital for check ups, lunch with a friend, a face paint workshop this afternoon I will be teaching. Then, last but not least, I am stocking my makeup kit this week on some things I am low on.

I wanted to share some makeup essentials that are on my wish list or that I already have. Just in case any fellow makeup artists out there are reading, I will provide links (when you click on the image, it should take you to wear you can purchase items!)

Ben Nye Concealer Wheel

Bobbi Brown Face Pallete

ZUCA Pro Makeup Bag Set

A lot of my makeup I have posted here, if you haven’t noticed is Ben Nye and Kryolan. If you have never heard of these brands, they are mainly used for stage makeup or even movie production makeup. You see these brands behind the scenes and even at the IMATS. (International MakeUp Trade Show)

I use Ben Nye for my body painting, but I want to branch out and start using their cosmetics as well. Their foundations and powders really help on photoshoots helping to keep your model looking fresh and not oily and sweaty as their foundations, powders and sealers help to keep it sweatproof and long lasting. I am ordering a bunch of stuff this week and next, so I will be sure to give reviews if yall want that sort of thing.

Here are a few images of their catalog from the Ben Nye Website

This is a pic of Priscilla Ono, who is an amazing MUA! This is her latest obsession color above! She pulls it off really well!

And some exciting news out there for Hair Stylists that use Paul Mitchell Products, they finally made a Dry Shampoo Spray! So, keep your eyes open for this one! I haven’t bought it yet, but I will be because I am a huge fan of dry shampoo!

I’s thinking of doing something like this (color wise) to my hair. What do you think?

Well, I need to get into the shower and get ready for the day! Thanks for waking up with me this morning!

Don’t forget to smile today! You never know whose day you will brighten!

At the end of the day you will not remember the person with the most beautiful face but you will remember the person with the most beautiful heart and soul.

Underwater Photoshoot

A few weeks ago, at a meet and greet, I met a local photographer Dana Chapman and just last week, I was able to do some makeup for him during one of his Underwater Photoshoots with a model by the name of Nicole Lousie Roesh.  I was so excited to work on this photoshoot, I have never seen anything like it and I just fell in love with this type of photography. It is truly unique.

Oh and BTW, I only did the makeup for Nicole- not the other models!
I encourage you to explore his portfolio, I have included links to all his pages as well. He is in the local Virginia Beach/Hampton Roads area and if you are interested in doing this type of photography, contact him! And if you need a MUA (Makeup Artist) who specializes in Underwater photography, you know where to find one :)

VAIN Wedding

My learning leader, Sammi Jo- otherwise known as Samantha Vain, married her love on October 1st, 2011. I asked her permission before writing about it, and I finally remembered to ask her to make sure it was ok.

I really look up to her in many ways not only for inspiration, motivation but as an amazing person. She is younger than me, and I cant say she reminds me of a sister I never had, but I just feel like I look up to her and I value what she teaches me throughout my cosmetology career. In a way, I look up to her as a mentor.

Let me just say, Samantha Vain is no ordinary woman, she changes her look everyday and her makeup is amazing. So, when it came for her beach wedding, it was be ANYTHING BUT ORDINARY.

I managed to get a few pictures online and I wanted to share them with my readers in hopes that you get inspired by it as I have.

I was online looking up more info on her and came across this cute article about them, you can see it here.

Samantha Vain is not only an instructor at Paul Mitchell Academy, she is also a makeup artist, a photographer and a model. You can find her at MODEL MAHEM !!!

I hope you enjoyed seeing this beautiful Avant Grade Fall Beach Wedding!
