Just a quick update I wanted to share! Thanks for stopping by!

Hot Rod Beach Weekend

The weather this past weekend was so nice! A lil hot but it felt good to feel the sun on my skin! I need a lil bit of vitamin D! Im too pasty for my taste! hahaha The fam and I headed down to the beach before all the tourists come stalking our beaches! We ended up catching a car show, which made hubby practically jump out of his skin in excitement! Matthias and Jermie bonded over all the muscle cars (Jermie is the kids stepdad) so I was so happy that we could all be together!

This was my fav out of all of them! I loved the pinstriping!
Cars were lined up the entire boardwalk. Cars came from mainly up and down the east coast. Matthias's favorite was this souped up camry that had a computer and a playstation 3 in it! It looked so awesome at night!

We went to Dairy Queen and pigged out on icecream! It has sort of become a tradition to go down to the beach on a summer day/evening and lay on the grass overlooking the boardwalk and eat our icecream blizzards fast before they melt into milkshakes.

We even rented one of those bikes that a family can bike together in. I gotta say its been a while since I even rode a bike let alone a bigger bike like this! But I have always wanted to ride one and be a tourist in my own city! The kids rode up front and Jermie and I peddled our hearts out trying to beat all the other people on the bike path.

The kids love coming to the beach and looking up at the big Neptune statue! They always throw their socks and shoes off and go running to the beach to dip their feet in the water and throw sand at  the waves!

Burying our toes! Matti looks so mad, he didnt want me to take pictures
Once the sun went down, we went to one of the carnivals that is set up at the beach. The kiddos won a few prizes and Jermie tried his hardest to climb this rockwall to win $100. He didnt get it, but it was funny to watch him try to climb the wall like Spiderman.

"In truth a family is what you make it. It is made strong, not by number of heads counted at the dinner table, but by the rituals you help family members create, by the memories you share, by the commitment of time, caring, and love you show to one another, and by the hopes for the future you have as individuals and as a unit." Splat Color Review

The past few months I have been using Joico colors on my hair which I still love, but I heard some good things about Splat Colors which you can get at any Walmart. I actually used their bleach kit included and it wasnt too bad, it lifted my roots pretty light but of course the red in my hair is TOOOOO STUBBORN! So I have this sort of purple and red ombre'd offect. I am still deciding if I like it, but Jermie loves it and thats all that matters! So Onto my review!

The bleach kit was purple too which was different. When I mixed it, it was pretty "frothy", it reminded me of like purple whip cream. The smell was fruity and I didnt have to leave it on too long for my roots to brighten up. After washing it, I applied the Lusty Lavender color all over.

I didnt have any help this time with my hair, I usually do but everyone was either asleep or out, and I get impatient when I just want to get my hair done, so I got it everywhere on my ears and neck as usual. I left it on for an hour I think, I started watching Vampire Diaries on Netflix and lost track of time. hahahaha I washed it out with cold water and put conditioner on it and styled it out.

Its not bad, I will say that it is hard to get off your scalp and face, I have to scrub it off literally. I dont know how fast it fades. I am gonna keep track of it and let yall know just in case you are wondering. I am not sure I will use it again. It didnt stick to my red color, which joico usually will cover it. So I think I will just stick to my Joico.

Thats my review of this product, Let me know if you ever used this line of colors and what you think of it!

As for me today, I have some not so fun things to do like get an oil change on the car, go to the bank, get a copy of my credit report and clean house. So- time to turn some music on and get to work! Have a happy weekend!

What color now?

As promised, I wanted to share with yall a few images that has inspired me in my next hair color ( that I am in the middle of bleaching right now).  I have noticed that since I did my last pink/purple/blue colors that the trend started popping up especially in the ombre'd look, which I adore. But I never keep one color that long...so onto the next color in the spectrum!

I decided to do an all over color instead of doing an arrangement of colors, plus it is easier to maintain and keep bright by just adding the color to my shampoo and conditioner. When I have more than one color, it makes it harder for me to do that. I usually let it fade out until its so gross I just wanna chop it off.

I found all these pictures on Pintrest...my latest obssession. Tell me what You think? I cant wait to see what my hair turns out to be!

Ive always done lil hints of purple when I color my hair, but never just full blown purple, or should I say Lavender.

I decided to use a different brand this time besides the Joico colors I used before, which I recently read were used in coloring the cast of The Capital people in The Hunger Games! Ill write more on that tomorrow. But for now, I need to go rinse my hair out and finish my hair so I can go to sleep! Ill post more tomorrow!

Workin Hard for the Money

Ive been busy what seems like everyday. I am soooooo tired, but it feels good knowing that I am creating art in different ways. Hair, makeup, paintings and custom clothing and I get to do it as my job! How cool is that?

Here are a few things from XOTIC EYES I got to have fun with this week. What do you think?

customizing these shoes!

Mermaid Bra! Look how sparkly it is!
these are a few eggs I painted for Easter- just wanted to share it hahaha
I also finished up these paintings for a project. These took alot more work than I thought they would. They were the BIGGEST canvases I have ever painted. I didnt even start painting until about 2 years ago. My husband even helped me do some painting and finishing touches.

I have also started learning to tattoo through a local artist, which is soooo exciting for me. I love it! I cannot wait until I can practice! hahaha

Besides all of this, I am contemplating YET AGAIN what color to do my hair.......I will post my inspiration pictures in the next post and my new color I go with tomorrow. Stay Tuned and stay creative!

I'm amazed when I see these little 8 year old kids with iPhones. You know what I had when I was 8? Imagination.

Easter Weekend

The kids and I started our Easter celebration on Saturday by going to MT Trashmore for a bit to run around and stretch our winter legs. The sun was out, it was a lil breezy but nothing that a sweatshirt couldn't fix. We ran up and down the mountain and watched all the kites soar higher and higher into the sky until they were small specs in the distance. It was really relaxing.

We stopped by 7-11 and got good ol' slurpees! I really wanted the Banana flavor, but it wasnt quite ready, so we all settled for Peach Mango Fanta mixed with a bit of Wild Cherry Fanta. It was a delish lil combo even though I stopped drinking them because they just taste weird or toooooo sweet. It wasnt too bad this time around.

Arabella took this photo of me. I love how blue the sky looks. Not a cloud in the sky!

We made our way to HUNT CLUB Farm, which is a local spot near where we live that does holiday events. They are really famous for their Halloween activities! They had easter egg hunts, sac races, bounce houses and inflatible play area, a playground, petting zoos, a live dj and some local food. Oh, and let me not forget the hayride that takes us around the whole property!

Hubby was at work, so we had to go without him, but when he got off work, we made some brownies and colored a dozen easter eggs.  I must say its been an eventful day. I didnt get to go to Home depot to get the rest of the plywood I need to finish my project, but I think I will go today. I saw that they are open!

Here is what I have so far on the first panel..sneak peek!

How did you spend your Easter Weekend? I would love to hear your story! :) Happy Easter and I hope you and your family are blessed!

Sunset Inspired Hair

One of my clients stopped by last night for me to do her hair anyway I wanted to do.  I love when I get a chance to do wild, funky hair! Its just my absolute favorite. I usually dont plan out how I am going to a color placement until its time to part the hair. Once I have the vision in my head, I go to work taking care to not mix the wrong colors together.

I have been inspired by the sunset lately and all the colors the sky turns while the sun is drifting away and the moon starts to peek out in the night sky.

Here are a few pictures of when I was blow drying and then curling her hair. She loved it, as well as everyone else who was watching me do her hair! Hope you like it and tell me what you think!
I used Joico Colors available at Cosmo Prof
I dont why I look so serious...I guess I am concentrating!
I love the way all the colors look when curling hair!
Her hair kinda resembled tropical flavored skittles....I almost wanted to eat her hair. hahahaha

I love this so much, I am tempted to do this to my hair, but then my client wouldnt be the only one rockin this style. And I dont copy any style even if it is one I created for someone else. hahaha

I wanted to share with my viewers of course all the types of art I am involved with! Hope you enjoy this latest piece of art. Hope to see you soon!
