2 Months

I deserve the Biggest slap on the back of my hand for this one, for it has been close to 2 months if not more than 2 months since I have last blogged. Like, really??? Where has the time gone? I wish I could have an excuse, but we all know that life gets in the way, family emergencies and situations arise, stress from work and financial issues pop out of nowhere like a zombie from the Walking Dead and no matter how many times I shoot that zombie, it keeps coming back for more. I never get a break it seems. But through the rain..the sun finally shines and I am getting everything back on track.

It has been a hectic past couple of months. I have missed blogging so much!!! I have been going through serious withdrawls!!! I have so much to share, but I dont want to overwelm you with massive long posts. So I'll take it slow, just a lil. haha It's pretty bad when everyone starts asking why I havent updated in a while. Its nice to know I have readers that pay attention and enjoy reading what I post. Its a nice compliment and makes me feel appreciated and loved. So thank you to my readers!

I have been having a blast at my new job at Coucoon Signature Spa and Salon. I love it. I have been learning so much from my boss, and he is more than my boss, he is a mentor and I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to be apart of the family and learn from the best. We have such a great team too. I really enjoy coming to work everyday. I am building up my clientele and its such a pleasure to help men, women and their kiddos look and feel their best by cutting and styling their hair.

I am so happy that the FALL season is here! A LOVE CULTURE has just opened up here in my neck of the woods at my local mall and one nearby too. I have been getting these fabulous dresses from there! The prices are pretty reasonable too!

Ive been busy with the kiddos with Matthias in football too. Their season is almost over and he has done so well with his team! I am so proud of him that he has stuck it through and he is excited to play next year too!

On top of working at Coucoon, I also am a facepainter/body painter/makeup artist for an entertainment company and since it's October, I have been busy doing all sorts of facepainting events.
I managed to get a few photos of some gigs this past week.

Jermie (the hubby) and I have been good. It was rocky for a bit, but with any marriage, it always takes work! We have been great and been doing alot of fun stuff. We went to the Neptune Festival a few weeks ago with the kiddos and had a nice time. I actually got him a job with the entertainment company as a stilt walker too! He has been having a blast walking on those things. (I'll have to get those pics of him)

Our roomate was dogwatching this adorable SHIBA INU-which is the only dog I really want. We instantly fell in love with her. Sooooo stinkin cute. We are thinking about getting a puppy possibly for christmas. Look how cute she is!!!

Oh yea, and I turned 29 last month! I know I know, how could I forget to post about my BDAY....well, I didnt do much for my birthday. It was pretty lowkey and just went to OTANIS with my mom and my two aunts. They surprised me also with my new favorite, Icecream cupcakes from Cold Stone. YUM!!!!!

Ok, I think I got yall caught up for the most part. Sorry for the super long post, but I gotta make up for lost time. Hahaha.

I just got done watching The Walking Dead and paying some bills online. I hope yall had a good weekend and a good Monday morning. I will see you again soon!

New Do and New You

Since I have started at Coucoon Salon, I have just been so busy. I didnt want anyone to think I just dropped off the face of the earth, but I know yall know how it gets. I was getting readjusted to being back at work fulltime and balancing everything else! Bruce went ahead and gave me a new look and I love it. Its been a LONG time since I have had hair that is shorter than my shoulders, but I needed a change. What do you think?

It's already September! Can you believe it??? Where has the year gone? September 1st (Saturday) I celebrated my 29th Birthday! I spent it with family and a few friends, nothing too major. My family surprised me with my favorite Icecream Cupcakes from Cold Stone Creamery. They are sooooo delish!

My mom and my Aunt's took me to my Favorite Restaurant, OTANIS Japanese Steakhouse! SOOOOO good! I basically have to starve myself to finish my meal there hahaha.

I am really looking forward to the FALL Season. I am going to be a busy bee with work, Matti's Football, Bella's Soccer, facepainting jobs and a couple of weddings and formal events to go to, just writing about it is already making me exhausted. But I love staying busy, keeps me motivated.

It's Labor Day weekend so I am off to enjoy it. I hope yall do too! Be safe and Dont drink and Drive, if you are in the Virginia Beach area, the Police are in full force! So be careful!

"Wouldn't it be nice if we could never make a mistake? Actually, making mistakes is crucial to living a good life. There is no way to gauge if we have or if we are doing the right things in life, if we have never messed up in our lives. Mistakes are simply part of who we are and what we do as human beings. We have to be able to accept that we make mistakes, and we have to be willing to use every mistake that we have made, and turn it into a positive, instead of not learning from our mistakes, and committing the same ones time and time again. If you didn't have the right to make any mistakes, then you wouldnt have the right to do anything at all because no one is perfect. Don't fear making mistakes, fear not learning from the mistakes you have made."- Search Quotes

Coucoon

This week has been busy busy busy and on the go! I cant remember if I told you all, but I did get the job at Coucoon Signature Salon and Spa! I started this Tuesday and it has been amazing. I have been working side by side with the well known stylist Bruce Ross. I love everyone I work with and the guests as well!

With that being said, let me tell you a little bit about Coucoon! It is located in the Hiltop North Shopping Center in Virginia Beach.

Bruce has  developed an amazing line of hair care. It is sold exclusively here at the salon and will be available online as well.

"The Chrysalis line of shampoos and conditioners from Coucoon come in several formulas. Chrysalis 1 is for finer hair to give it fullness and healthy shine. Chrysalis 2 is for thick, curly or damaged hair. Both product lines are designed to be used daily and have wonderful exotic ingredients! Some of them include clotted cream from England to moisturize and control frizz, crushed flowers from Switzerland for shine and fruits from Northern Italy for volume. There's even a great Chrysalis treatment made from cultured pearls. Can you imagine the how glossy and beautiful that would make your hair?"

Coucoon also is the only salon that offers the Thai Silk Smoothing Treatment. It is a wax treatment applied to the hair and it lasts for up to 5 months.

Spa services are offered as well from classic manicures to Caviar Pedicures, facials, micro-dermabrasions, waxing services, massages and so much more. The website is being upgraded, but you can still see it at http://coucoon.com/.

Above is "Lady" who is relaxing in the Coucoon lobby. The atmosphere of Coucoon is peaceful and serene. The salon is modeled after many European style salons and spas and has the best, top of the line equipment so that you have a one of a kind experience!

Now that I am apart of the family, you can always schedule a service with me and let me transform you with the Coucoon Experience!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and I hope to see you at Coucoon!

I really enjoy their articles and get to explore other artists and bloggers. This is my first interview for any publication and I felt so honored to be able to work with them.

You never know who may stumble across your blog and this just goes to prove that! I have tons to do and I'm off to get ready! Have a great week!

Quote of the Day:

Hair Inspiration

I am gettin that itch again. Its been a few weeks since my last color and now its fading and I have new growth..so of course Im ready to do something different. I cant believe its already the middle of August. Like, where has the time flown by? I cant wait for Fall. I love Fall, its my favorite season!

I have already done the tealish-turquoise color and the blue colors, but I want to incorporate both. I am in love with all these pictures I found on the internet and some on Pintrest.

I want to keep my "split dyed" color, so I am keeping one half black and the other will be an om'bred  effect.  I love the last color combination I had, but I am ready for summer to be over. Ready for cool colors. :)

What do you think? What colors are you loving this coming fall??? I would love to hear!

I'll leave you with this positive quote of the day! Xoxo, Cecilia Marie

Change

It is Wednesday, wait a minute, no it's Thursday! The week is flying by and it's been very productive! And I'm thankful to keep myself busy especially when things have been crazy. My life seems to be taking sharp and twisting turns, leaving me to try to understand them.

I will say that in the midst of change, I am becoming stronger and even more sure of myself...in some ways. But other ways, I am unsure of which direction I should move towards. It's not that I'm scared of change. I know things need to change. I fear I am becoming "comfortable." I don't like that one bit. I love to challenge myself and rise to the occasion of what is presented to me.

I being faced with decisions...that affect multiple parts of my life. Personal wise, work wise, art wise. It can be a lil overwhelming. I'm taking the day today to relax and let things fall into place.

As for these decisions I need to make, I am breaking out the ol' pen and pad to go over the pros and cons of what I need to do to help me in my big decisions.

If you are facing change and need to make a decision, you are def not alone. The only advice is go with what you feel is right in your heart and make sure you really think about what will happen on what you choose. Life can change so fast, you gotta be ready for it. Don't be afraid to change. Things happen for a reason.

Thanks for stopping by Sweet Surrender! :) See you again soon!

Hold Fast

Through the years, with everything I have gone through I have changed as does everyone with time. With every experience, I have grown into the person I am meant to be.

I have made many mistakes and I'm not perfect, I have never claimed to be.
I have become more confident, more motivated and sure of my life. I used to not know who I was, I was lost, even into my early 20's, just a wanderer.

Ive realized that being a mother, and helping your children grow into the person they are meant to be is completly backwards. My children have molded ME into who I am meant to be.

Not only my kids have molded me, but so have my friends and of course my family. I strongly believe in "You are who you surround yourself with" I try to surround myself with others who are positive, motivated, strong, open, outgoing. I am thankful for everyone in my life.

The way I look, with bright colored hair, and a half shaved head, colored eyebrows, and vibrant makeup and a growing collections of tattoos, how I dress, what I buy-everything about me- is all apart of who I am. To me, this is not a fad, a phase, or me trying to fit in. I am a confident, independent woman, who is not afraid to live life.

I was inspired to write this because I believe that we shouldnt have to compromise who we are or what we look like for anything. Yesterday, I had my interview at Sportsclips. It went well as far as me cutting the hair on the mannequin. I dressed professionally and of course maintained myself. I dont want to nitpick all the wrong things I saw about the interviewer, but to sum it all up, she told me that they couldnt allow tattoos, and that my hair would have to be a "Natural" color. I politely thanked her for her time and left.
As I am searching for another job in a salon, I am feeling out what is right and where I fit in. I def feel that Sportsclips was not a good fit for who I am. But I know I will find the right place, somewhere I fit in. It will take hard work and sacrifice, but I will not sacrifice who I am for anyone or any job.

I want  to share some inspirational things I found on Pintrest of course and a few from the internet. Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by! I have another interview today for Coucoon Salon! Wish me luck!

XOXO, Cecilia Marie
