Pen and Paper

I get sudden urges to blog when I am out enjoying life, like when I take the pup for a walk, or when I am drinking coffee at a coffee shop or in an antique store. It’s the small moments when the world gets quiet and I am lost in my own thoughts that I wish I could write out what’s on my mind. Its times like those, is when I actually DON’T have a notebook or a pen and typing it on my iphone just doesn’t share the same appeal as good ol’ pen and paper do.

This week, I did manage to take a break from all the packing and squeezing some drawing in. I logged back into Createmytattoo.com and been working on new designs for contests, and also working on some logos for a few clients. It feels good to be back at my drawing table and letting my creativity flow.

The kids and I visited Santa last weekend, and got our picture taken!

The kids are so excited this year, they want skateboards! How adorable Is that? I miss skateboarding, I used to all the time when I was a teenager, maybe I will get one too so all of us can skateboard together! haha

I did a fun red violet ombre on a client last week that was so fun to do!

She gave me the best compliment:

“I wanted to let you know that i am in love with my hair & so is my husband. Thank you so much once again. As long as you dont, or i dont leave VA , i just made you my hairstylist & will recommend you”

This is the reason why I love what I do, whether its hair, makeup, body paint, artwork, I love creating something that brings happiness and joy to someone’s life. I cannot wait until I have a studio where I can fully express myself and create an environment that people will love to come to.

In other news, Kreative Thinking Apparel, the clothing line I am apart of has been making leaps and bounds and we now have our own printing shop which will help pump out more awesome designs. Yesterday was a nice day, after the kids and I stopped at the library to pick up a few movies and books, we got a flat tire! Instead of making a big deal about it or getting upset, we pulled over and I took this time to show them how to change a flat tire. This is one skill I am glad that I have, which I learned from the Army, when I had to change tires on Humvees.

 

The kids were happy to learn and to actually do it. They helped to raise the car with the jack and loosen and tighten the car bolts. It was just too adorable. Afterwards, I treated them to burgers and fries at our favorite place Hwy 55. I love moments like these that my children and I share. I hope that I am leaving good memories for their childhood.

I went out last night with my family to dinner and a comedy show, and it was relaxing to get out and have a night not to worry about anything and just laugh the stress away.

Well, I am going to get back to drawing and relaxing with the kiddos. This is my last weekend here at this house before I move, so off to enjoy the rest of the weekend. Thanks for stopping by and see you soon!

Stay Positive

Yesterday was a gloomy and freezing day, it even snowed here in Virginia Beach! I am afraid it may be a really cold winter this year. Brrrrr!!! It’s the middle of November already, can you believe it? Its getting closer to me moving! Now that I have found a room to rent, the stress has been lifted! I have been getting rid of furniture left and right. I thought I would feel sad about getting rid of stuff, but it is the complete opposite! I feel as if getting rid of stuff, all the negative energy and pressure is lifted. Something is different about this move and I have moved a lot. Or maybe its just my way of thinking has changed. There has been a lot of growth this year, and I am proud of myself for that.

I feel as if a bit of positive motivation is in order for this beautiful Wednesday, not just for myself but for any of my readers as well. So, if you woke up grumpy this morning, complaining about your life, wishing things were different, remember YOU have the power to change your life. Focus your energy and positive things and the universe will work its magic.

Christmas Décor and Fashion Inspiration

With 3 weeks left to pack up my house, I finally got a start on actually packing. I feel like a professional mover. I have moved soooo many times in my life, this has to be I believe the 35th time moving. I got a little sentimental packing last night as I was watching Christmas movies on Netflix, I know I know, like really? Why do I put myself through that torture? I LOVE Christmas, and while I am not one of those people who already has their tree up and decorated, I do listen to the christmas music already.

I cant wait to be moved into a new place to call my own. I am looking for a one bedroom or even a studio. I really don’t want to rent a room but I may not have a choice. I have no problems roomating (roomating? is that even a word? It is now!!!) , because I am an excellent roomate. hahahaha I cant wait to get settled, because I want to decorate!!!!

What girl doesn’t love furry boots, sweaters and scarves during the cold holiday season?? I spied some really cute furry boots at Target last night while I was getting boxes to pack and they are only $35, so when I can, I wanna snatch these up. I have been looking for a pair of fur boots with a decent sole and that are comfortable. Plus, these match my Coach purse that my mom gave me! There’s no way that I will pay more than $50 for a pair of boots right now.

I love wearing jeans, sweaters, flannels and boots and lets not forget warm, cozy socks! I am planning on making a coat. I was sketching the other day and this is what I came up with. What do you think?

The Secret to Thrift Stores

I do have a slight shopping addiction. But in my defense, I am still a bargain shopper and most of my shopping is at thrift shops or at least in the clearance section of stores like TJ MAXX. I just cant help myself. I mean, I could if I just stayed home, but where’s the fun in that??? I made a quick video that I am uploading now. So, check it out below!

I stopped by the Antique center, and I saw a lot of great pieces that served as motivation for what I want in my future home.

I am really into Big Armoires lately. I would love to get a big one like this above, and turn it into something like this:

I saw this old Coca Cola cooler fridgerator and I just thought it would be cool if that was my fridge instead of a normal one. Because to me, certain forms of normal is boring.

One day…I will have my crazy house with all my crazy stuff. But until then..I will keep dreaming.

I have been talking about extensions on and off here for the past few weeks. I visited Lah yesterday and she did my fusion extensions! I ordered hair online, and I am testing out different types of hair so that I can start offering my clients this service.

This was before I got them in, I just held it up to see how they would look.

I got a chance to really style it today and I LOVE LOVE LOVE my hair! What do you guys think?

Body Painting and Artwork

November is here! And just like that, Christmas is already in the air! Its amazing to me how we can go from Halloween to Christmas literally overnight. It gets me excited none the less because I love Christmas. I cant wait to decorate when I move and get settled! I have to move at the end of the month and I’m looking to get into a new place soon! Were applying this week for a place and I hope we get it!

I finished up a new custom design for a client, so I wanted to share that with you guys! I really enjoyed this piece. It is a tattoo for my clients son, and it is to complete his sleeve that he already has.

I love the way it came out! I have a few more tattoo designs that I have to draw up this week! I will post as I go!

Oh, and how could I forget to post some of the body and face painting from Halloween! Check these awesome designs!

I just finished editing this video! I bought some things yesterday while running around on errands. I got a few art supplies, and you can see my new tattoo and my new puppy!

This week besides drawing and creating, I am going to get extensions in on Tuesday! As you may know, I want to start offering microlink and fusion extensions to my clients, so I want to get them done myself of course so that people can see how they are put in and worn! I am super excited! I took a quick photo (they are not put in yet) but you get the general idea. It will be nice to have long hair again!

With Christmas around the corner, I am already eyeballing things to put on my list and if I don’t get them for Christmas, then I will treat myself for the new year! hahaha

 

Of course, I love those pants above, and the bag and what else? Art supplies! hahaha

Well, I am off to eat dinner with my Mom, brother and Bella boo! Were having pepper steak! yum!
