Coucoon

This week has been busy busy busy and on the go! I cant remember if I told you all, but I did get the job at Coucoon Signature Salon and Spa! I started this Tuesday and it has been amazing. I have been working side by side with the well known stylist Bruce Ross. I love everyone I work with and the guests as well!

With that being said, let me tell you a little bit about Coucoon! It is located in the Hiltop North Shopping Center in Virginia Beach.

Bruce has  developed an amazing line of hair care. It is sold exclusively here at the salon and will be available online as well.

"The Chrysalis line of shampoos and conditioners from Coucoon come in several formulas. Chrysalis 1 is for finer hair to give it fullness and healthy shine. Chrysalis 2 is for thick, curly or damaged hair. Both product lines are designed to be used daily and have wonderful exotic ingredients! Some of them include clotted cream from England to moisturize and control frizz, crushed flowers from Switzerland for shine and fruits from Northern Italy for volume. There's even a great Chrysalis treatment made from cultured pearls. Can you imagine the how glossy and beautiful that would make your hair?"

Coucoon also is the only salon that offers the Thai Silk Smoothing Treatment. It is a wax treatment applied to the hair and it lasts for up to 5 months.

Spa services are offered as well from classic manicures to Caviar Pedicures, facials, micro-dermabrasions, waxing services, massages and so much more. The website is being upgraded, but you can still see it at http://coucoon.com/.

Above is "Lady" who is relaxing in the Coucoon lobby. The atmosphere of Coucoon is peaceful and serene. The salon is modeled after many European style salons and spas and has the best, top of the line equipment so that you have a one of a kind experience!

Now that I am apart of the family, you can always schedule a service with me and let me transform you with the Coucoon Experience!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and I hope to see you at Coucoon!

Razberryjuice.com Interview

Good Morning my lovelies! Its Monday Morning and I wanted to share some exciting news. I was asked to be interviewed by RazberryJuice.com and share my blog and a little bit about myself. It is now posted on their website and you can check it out here!

Razberry Juice is a website that is UK and Ireland based and is focused on women. They also have a website for men which you can check out at http://www.kewelworld.com/.

I really enjoy their articles and get to explore other artists and bloggers. This is my first interview for any publication and I felt so honored to be able to work with them.

You never know who may stumble across your blog and this just goes to prove that! I have tons to do and I'm off to get ready! Have a great week!

Quote of the Day:

Hair Inspiration

I am gettin that itch again. Its been a few weeks since my last color and now its fading and I have new growth..so of course Im ready to do something different. I cant believe its already the middle of August. Like, where has the time flown by? I cant wait for Fall. I love Fall, its my favorite season!

I have already done the tealish-turquoise color and the blue colors, but I want to incorporate both. I am in love with all these pictures I found on the internet and some on Pintrest.

I want to keep my "split dyed" color, so I am keeping one half black and the other will be an om'bred  effect.  I love the last color combination I had, but I am ready for summer to be over. Ready for cool colors. :)

What do you think? What colors are you loving this coming fall??? I would love to hear!

I'll leave you with this positive quote of the day! Xoxo, Cecilia Marie

Change

It is Wednesday, wait a minute, no it's Thursday! The week is flying by and it's been very productive! And I'm thankful to keep myself busy especially when things have been crazy. My life seems to be taking sharp and twisting turns, leaving me to try to understand them.

I will say that in the midst of change, I am becoming stronger and even more sure of myself...in some ways. But other ways, I am unsure of which direction I should move towards. It's not that I'm scared of change. I know things need to change. I fear I am becoming "comfortable." I don't like that one bit. I love to challenge myself and rise to the occasion of what is presented to me.

I being faced with decisions...that affect multiple parts of my life. Personal wise, work wise, art wise. It can be a lil overwhelming. I'm taking the day today to relax and let things fall into place.

As for these decisions I need to make, I am breaking out the ol' pen and pad to go over the pros and cons of what I need to do to help me in my big decisions.

If you are facing change and need to make a decision, you are def not alone. The only advice is go with what you feel is right in your heart and make sure you really think about what will happen on what you choose. Life can change so fast, you gotta be ready for it. Don't be afraid to change. Things happen for a reason.

Thanks for stopping by Sweet Surrender! :) See you again soon!

Hold Fast

Through the years, with everything I have gone through I have changed as does everyone with time. With every experience, I have grown into the person I am meant to be.

I have made many mistakes and I'm not perfect, I have never claimed to be.
I have become more confident, more motivated and sure of my life. I used to not know who I was, I was lost, even into my early 20's, just a wanderer.

Ive realized that being a mother, and helping your children grow into the person they are meant to be is completly backwards. My children have molded ME into who I am meant to be.

Not only my kids have molded me, but so have my friends and of course my family. I strongly believe in "You are who you surround yourself with" I try to surround myself with others who are positive, motivated, strong, open, outgoing. I am thankful for everyone in my life.

The way I look, with bright colored hair, and a half shaved head, colored eyebrows, and vibrant makeup and a growing collections of tattoos, how I dress, what I buy-everything about me- is all apart of who I am. To me, this is not a fad, a phase, or me trying to fit in. I am a confident, independent woman, who is not afraid to live life.

I was inspired to write this because I believe that we shouldnt have to compromise who we are or what we look like for anything. Yesterday, I had my interview at Sportsclips. It went well as far as me cutting the hair on the mannequin. I dressed professionally and of course maintained myself. I dont want to nitpick all the wrong things I saw about the interviewer, but to sum it all up, she told me that they couldnt allow tattoos, and that my hair would have to be a "Natural" color. I politely thanked her for her time and left.
As I am searching for another job in a salon, I am feeling out what is right and where I fit in. I def feel that Sportsclips was not a good fit for who I am. But I know I will find the right place, somewhere I fit in. It will take hard work and sacrifice, but I will not sacrifice who I am for anyone or any job.

I want  to share some inspirational things I found on Pintrest of course and a few from the internet. Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by! I have another interview today for Coucoon Salon! Wish me luck!

XOXO, Cecilia Marie

Interview Today

Good Morning all! It is Monday Morning here in my neck of the woods and I just had some yummy waffles and fruit and of course my beloved coffee in my new sleek Marilyn Monroe mug my dad picked up for me. I am listening to the "XX" station on pandora and I am nice, calm, cool and collected. I am super sore from my attempt to do partially this Ninety Nine workout. Whew. I got to set 66 and had to stop.

My weeks have been so busy lately even though hours have been cut back since its slow before Halloween Season. My son, Matthias has started football and he is soooo cute in his lil practice uniform. (If you follow my Instagram, sorry you are seeing the same photos)

Between working out and running the kids around to practice, I have been working on my drawing. I am trying to draw at least one design a day even if its just lettering.

ols sketch I found while cleaning from when I attended the Art Institute

I have an interview today at Sportsclips and I am excited not only because I need to get another job, but I really like the laid back atmosphere of the place. I think it will be a good place to get my foot in the door and also help me with my men's haircuts.

I just wanted to do a quick post! It's very rare for me to ask for anything, but I am trying to get enough money to take my state boards ($155) if you are in a giving mood, and want to donate to help a blogger out I would appreciate it! There is a link to donate in the top right corner of my blog! You dont have to by any means so dont feel pressured! Once I reach the amount or get it somehow I will take it down, because I do not want to take advantage! well, thanks for stopping by!

Create My Tattoo

I have been on Craiglists looking for a second job all day and typed in "tattoos" for fun and I actually found a pretty cool site for those that are into tattoos. If you have followed me for a while, you know that I want to one day apprentice to learn how to tattoo. But for now, I am working on my drawing and illustrating skills by drawing tattoo designs. I draw them for friends, family and clients that contact me.

This website Create My Tattoo is for people who are looking for custom tattoo drawings and for tattoo designers. A client can hold a contest listing what they are looking for and give a deadline and a prize value. Artists enter their interpretation of a design and the winning design gets the prize. Oh yea, and It's free to register! Just click on the register link in the top right hand corner of the page and its fast and simple!

I am making it a goal of mine to do at least one tattoo drawing a day to improve my skills and with that enter a contest everyday. That would be pretty to cool to win a few contests, but I just want to improve myself. :)

But I also have great news! I have a job interview on Monday for SportsClips and I am pretty excited. So wish me luck! I'm off to go finish a contest entry. I'll post it when I am done or a link to my profile on Create My Tattoo! Good luck for those who check it out and decide to enter their artwork.

Thanks for stopping by! See ya again soon!

Back Online

I just picked up my computer this afternoon and it feels good to have it back. My poor baby had her guts ripped out and was in surgery all weekend, but she is safely put back together and viruses GONE! I was so very fortunate to have known someone who could fix her.

My computer ended up having to be totally wiped ( luckily the IT was able to get all my important photos, videos and documents and restore them after wiping her clean). I will def have to go get an external harddrive to keep all my stuff on before something bad does happen.

evening view of sandbridge bay

This past weekend, the family and I hung out in Sandbridge at a beach house my mother rented. It was so nice and peaceful. A cute 4 bedroom house with a huge wrap around deck. It was very relaxing. The whole fam came out and we all ended up crashing over saturday night. All the kids slept in bunk beds....including myself...hahaha. We grilled out, walked to the beach, sunbathed, ate homemade icecream and took strolls on the beach at night.

homemade icecream. (bought this maker at Sam's Club)

I managed to take a few pics before going to the beach in my onepiece bathing suit. (I found at TJ MAXX for only $30) It's a onepiece, hot pink suit that totally reminds me of who other than Marilyn (minus the shaved head part hahaha)

I will say I have a nice glowy tan so no one can complain how ghostly white I usually am. hahaha

Oh, and of course I recolored my hair....AGAIN. Its still half black with yellow, orange and red all creating a ncie fading ombre'd. LOVE IT!

But now that the weekend is over, its time to go back to work. I am going to submit my paperwork so that I can take my state boards and get a job in a salon.  (I do still work for Xotic Eyes in case you are wondering) but I need to go ahead and get licensed.

Well, thanks for stopping by, and sorry that I was MIA for I dont even want to know how long. I will leave you with this positive thought with this picture that is currently my desktop!

see ya again soon!

XOXO Cecilia
