Clouds Clearing

The past few posts have had a couple moodswings....if you couldnt tell, but of course, I am human and thats the way I release my energy, I blog about it and in a way it helps me feel better. But like thunderstorms, the clouds clear and the sun comes out and a new day begins, along with the rest of those moodswings and bad energies.

I have to admit, Ive been in a bit of a funk or artists block and I feel like Ive dwelled on it long enough, and now its time to get back into it. I have too much I want to accomplish to lose anymore time wasting it.

Its time to draw more inspiration that I have been hoarding on my desktop whenever I am surfing online and find stuff that I like. I hope it inspires you!

Addiction In Many Forms

I want to dedicate this post to something more serious than usual. ADDICTION.

Some of us have people in our lives who suffer from addiction, anxiety, depression or other serious conditions. These are people that we know and love or it could even be you who is suffering. Anyone suffering from these conditions and do not seek help are often scared, sad, lonely, angry and afraid. Most of the time, they suffer in silence which makes it harder to get them the help they need. It affects everyone especially in a family. I have been on both sides of this conflict, and I want to write to you to let you know that you are not alone.

I come from a family that has a history of depression and alcoholism. In the past I have gone through my periods of severe depression, from childhood, to post partum, to post traumatic to chronic depression. I have had my thoughts of suicide in the past.  For many years I kept this pain to myself. I was afraid, I felt ashamed, like no one would understand what I was feeling.

Why I kept it to myself for so long, I will never know. But the second I let my guard down and let my family and the ones I love in, and got the help I needed, my life has been 100 million times better. If it wasnt for my family, friends and especially my husband, I wouldnt be here right now typing this and sharing it with you.

If you have someone you know who is suffering, my advice to you is keep holding on, let them know that you love them, and care for them. There are places to get help. Its hard to see the ones you love slipping from reality. Its so hard to love them whether it be yourself, your mom, your dad, brother, sister, cousin, spouse...the list can go on, and give them the support they need.

I have been through alot in my short 28 years, and have been on both sides.I have been the one with depression and I am in a family with several members who are suffering NOW. in the past, I have made plenty of mistakes. I am not trying to be self righteous, or judgemental by any means, I just want to share my experience. Fortunately, I have learned from my mistakes by getting the help I needed. I only hope that from my mistakes, others learn from them. I have a big heart and always want to help people or point them in the right direction. I hate to see the ones I love make the wrong decisions or waste their life away, especially when they have their whole life in front of them.

It hurts me to see those I love fall off their path. One careless mistake can change your life FOREVER. I know this from experience. I would hope that my past could help someone else in their future and help them make the right decisions. But Addiction and depression clouds a persons better judgements. They choose to go down the wrong path. All I can do is try, try to help them  even though they dont listen, they are stubborn and careless. They dont see the bigger picture.

Life is too short to give into this life, too short to be depressed or angry. There is help - all you have to do is let go of all your fears and let someone in. There are more people who understand than you think.

Thanks for reading...I just had to share this and hope the ones I love and who are suffering it read it and make better choices. I only get upset because I care and love you, if I didnt care...you would never know that you are loved. Life is out there waiting for you to live it.

She is Love

Love. Love is such a strong force. We all have been in love at least one point in our lives, or maybe even several times. I dont really know why I am writing this, I am in no way an expert in love. But I do love "LOVE".  I love the connection two people feel when they first met.  The first kiss. The first...everything.

Sometimes, after the first few months or years go by, and this goes for any relationships, we forget about those special lil moments that happens between couples.  Simple little things, like cooking dinner together, going out on dates, getting flowers, holding hands,  are forgotten because of our busy lives, school, work, kids and family.

We all need those lil reminders to stop. Take a break from our busy schedules....and take time to reunite those bonds. Go out on a date, go for a walk on the beach, go for a couples massage. Remember to appreciate your partner. Its nice to hear that youre appreciated. Its  nice to know that you are missed and loved.

In love, its always the little things that count. I mean the big things count too, but the little things is what keeps us going everyday. Small reminders that youre connected and loved. To feel connected and to feel you have a purpose in someone live. Love makes your life worthwihile.

So I guess the meaning of this post, is to remind you to stop and love someone. hahaha go run off and do something spontaneous, run and dance on the beach even if its freezing cold, bake some cookies and serve it with icecream to your love interest, do something you normally dont do. Just to feel alive, to feel loved because love is what makes the world go round.

Ill leave you with this video: "She is Love" by Parachute. Jermie and I went to see Goo Goo Dolls and saw this group and michelle Branch play. We got their autographs too! And thats another thing to do with your love, go to a concert!

Passionate Hair

Even with my busy schedule, I still find time to take my hair clients that have decided to follow me out of school. I love it that I can do everything that I love and that I am passionate about: Hair, makeup, and fashion. I love it even more when my clients are brave enough to let me do something out of the box. If you cant tell by now, I love color! I am a big fan of bright colors! One of my regular clients, Jackie let me do a hot pink/indigo mix on her hair last night.

I cant seem to ever remember to take before and after pics when working, so she took these photos when she got home and sent them to me. I had fun doing this on her hair. With her previous colors, the bright colors did their own thing and created a beautiful ombre'd mixture. Once I blowdried and styled her hair, I was really happy with the results and so was Jackie!

I must say that I have come to love this industry and not because I get to have fun with color and makeup all day, But I am in love with the transformation of hair and makeup does to a person. I have seen energies change completely and not just from a beauty service, but the relationship that develops between a client and a stylist/artist.

I love all my clients and I hope they all know that! I cant wait until I have my studio set up and I can have my clients enjoy all the services that it will offer! I just wanted to share this fun color with all my readers!

80's Flashback

Who doesnt like dressing up and taking a trip back into time? The 80's were known for so many things, music, fashion, movies and so much more. Some say they were the best of times and I agree! I was born in 83' so I have alot of fond memories in my childhood growing up in the 80's. I wore my legwarmers and neon colored tights to my dance classes. I rocked out to the music along with my mom and my 2 aunts. I loved it, especially the hair and makeup. The 80's still serve as inspiration to many people including designers and artists.

me and jak jak gettin ready!

My friend Jackie and I were invited to go to a birthday celebration of a friend of ours where an 80's tribute band, The Legwarmers were playing. We got all decked out in our colored tights and chucks and bright colors and we got there and it was sold out. I WAS SOOOOOO BUMMED. I really needed a night out to let loose and have fun and be completely silly. Not wanting to waste the night,. we met up with a few of my friends and just kinda hung out.

So colorful and bright!

We felt a lil silly because we were the only ones in 80's attire- but we didnt care! We didnt stay out too long, because we were back home by 1230am. Were definetly getting old! LOL

silly face

I love 80's parties! I called up my cousin, Jessica to find out when our local tribute band, The Deloreans will be playing, and they will be playing this friday! I cant wait! I have gone to 80's parties before, last year we went and saw the Deloreans play. Here are some photos from that night!

Cheetah, Leopard or Peacock?

I just dont know what to call this look. I am not very good at naming my makeup tutorials. hahaha
I made this video about 3 weeks ago and I honestly just forgot to edit it, since I started working at Xotic Eyes and freelancing as a makeup artist, I have been so busy. (but I am not complaining! )

I love this weird face I am making hahaha
I wanna call this a bluish/purplyish pink and white smokey eye with a black cheetah/leopard or peacock design. I had worn this same look on New Years Eve, and recreated it for all of my viewers!

If you saw my last makeup tutorial Hello Kitty Pop,( I did a look inspired by these hello kitty vans my friend Jacki gave to me for Christmas), you saw a sneak peek of this tutorial.

So, without further delay, here is my lil video- watch for funny surprises.....my phone rang and went off and my dad even walked in during my video...geezzzz...cant a girl get some privacy to film a tutorial??? hahaha Enjoy!
