Dorm Room Swagga Part 2

I can't believe that all the stores are getting ready for school again! It's like they just got let out! But then I remembered that college students start school next month. With all the school supplies and bedding accessories out in the stores and me drooling over it all even though I am done with college for now..who is to say I will enroll again and finish one of the degrees I started such as Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Interior Design or Graphic Design. Yea...I switched my major around a few times.....and I have a butt load of school debt to show for it. hahaha

Last year, I posted about some pretty cool and hip dorm rooms and my blog gets hit on it the most. You can check out the link Here. so why  not post again on the subject?

Since it was such a smashing hit last year, I wanted to put together another collection of cool rooms that are "IN" this year. So sit back and get inspired!

Getting That Color Itch Again

I am addicted to color! I don't plan on coloring my hair every month or so, but I get bored with my hair now. I am starting to get that itch where I want something new and fresh...again. I just think it's fun. I feel like I have done every color, but I really havent. To see my hair timeline, you can see it here.  My inspiration comes from all over, but lately I've been on Pintrest of course. Here is what I am feeling lately:

Then, Paul Mitchell brought back their blue powder lightener cream and I am super excited to try it out. It says it can lift up to 7 levels..yea 7 levels in a gentle way. Because we all know anything you do to your hair even shampooing your hair damages it. Imagine what bleach does, thats why I am always do a conditioning treatment after I color my hair with Awapuhi Wild Ginger Keratin treatment. Love it.

It's Sunday, and I am at home, watching The Goonies with the kids, hubby is sleeping in and I am finishing up a video that I was supposed to post before or on fourth of July...yea, its been a lil busy. I havent been feeling too well, theres something going around. I hope its not the Zombie Virus and its just a summer cold. Its been ridonkulously hot and humid and its making me miserable to where I dont even want to wear makeup. Ugh. Oh well.

Since the library here is closed on sundays in the summer, something I didnt even know about till this morning, I guess we will just go hang out at my mom's house and let the kids run amuck. Have a great sunday!

Pink Cheetah

Today, I bring you this fun look inspired by Pink Cheetahs! Yes, you heard right. These are a wild breed! hahaha

Hahaha Wouldn't that be crazy if there really were Pink Cheetahs? Well, we do have pink flamingos, so they are not too far fetched!

I wore these to attend the Summer Fest this past weekend, and I received alot of compliments on them. They stayed on for hours through the hot and humid weather we had. I took them off gently and placed them on a piece of parchment paper so that I can reuse them. They are reuseable as long as you are gentle with them.

Here is what I used:

Pink Cheetah Eye Card

Sweet Catwings

Light Pink Kisses

All products listed are made by Xotic Eyes
The Pink Cheetah Eye Cards are not even on the website yet so these babies are brand new!

What do you think of them?

I made a quick video for yall so you can see how I applied it for this look.
Enjoy!

Here are some other things inspired by Pink Cheetahs!

Editing Issues

I filmed an awesome tutorial last weekend and finally finished editing it and cleaning everything up, adding all my finishing touches. I saved my video. Then, I go to watch it before I upload it to youtube. And then here comes sad face :( The audio does not match up with the video and its like one of those kung fu movies where the person is talking and theres no sound until 30 seconds later someone starts blabbing away. Talk about frustration.

I have been using the video editing software that came with my computer when I got this thing and many of you out there may use this program too, called Windows Movie Maker. I have made roughly like 30 movies with it and havent had any issues since. Not sure the reason why, I guess its just one of those things.

I researched a good, cheap, budget friendly alternative to WMM since I dont have a MAC yet. I came across this program called TrakAXPC. I downloaded the 30 day trial version for free to test it out then to go "PRO" you only pay like $25 for it. I gotta say it looks interesting and I could do alot more. I am not that techie nerdo, but it looked easy enough for me to figure out. Has anyone used this before? Any advice? There are helpful how to videos that I understand, now all I need is the time and energy and focus to teach myself how to use this software.

I am falling behind due to my technical difficulties, so bear with me. Ill get this figured out asap! Let me know if you film videos and what program you like to use. I appreciate any comments!

Too Personal

With the world wide web and the whole universe at your fingertips, and with blogs and youtube, I started to ask myself when does it become too personal? It's not like someone is forcing me to blog or film videos to post on youtube. The past decade, the world has taken interests into reality tv and shows. But now-a-days, even reality shows are scripted. There are only a few reality shows I really do watch and that includes Project Runway, House Hunters, and dance and singing shows. I do occasionally watch the outrageous shows too like Jerseyliscious. hahaha

I have gone back and forth about doing more personal vlogging on youtube. I just made a new channel on youtube named "Sweet Surrender Arts" to showcase makeup tutorials, avant garde looks, hairstyles, fashion, DIY and anything I find interesting or artistic.

Here is a quick vlog I recorded, I didnt make this completely public, so you can only view it through here

There are a few youtubers I watch avidly. 2 couple in particular, such as TheSacconeJolys and Its JudysLife. They both individually have their own things going on and their own channels. Let me introduce you to them if you don't know them already.

Anna and Jofus make up TheSacconeJolys. Anna has her own beauty blog and channel named the StyleDiet. They are from Ireland and vlog daily on youtube. They record their daily lives with 4 puppies and 2 dogs, driving around, and getting ready for their new addition due in September. They are so adorable and funny.

Then there's Judy and Benji who make up ItsJudysLife. She is a beauty guru on youtube as well. Benji has alot going on from his BBoy Crew 360 to real estate. They are just so funny and cute. Watching them has slowly getting me on organic food. They too are also expecting a baby girl!

What I love about these couples is that its real. Its not scripted like so-called-reality shows. They arent always recording in a studio and their makeup isnt always done up. They have lazy days just like real people. You see them for who they are and watching them makes them all feel like good friends. I feel this way too about the bloggers I read about too.

I want to start recording my life as well with my husband and the kiddos and all the things I like to do. I think I am going to keep it on a private channel for right now-and post only to my blog readers. What do you think? Have you thought of doing something liek this? or do you already have a channel where you do this? I would love to check it out or hear your thoughts on it.

Thanks for stopping by! Subscribe if you like and stop lurking, make a comment! I love to hear thoughts back from my readers!

Seven Cities

A few friends I know all came together and planned a lil get together in the area called " The Seven Cities Summer Fest". Just some local artists getting together to showcase their art or craft. There was a skateboarding contest, a live art contest and a breakdancing contest, a dj with some awesome music, a few local tattoo artists and local vendors.

We grabbed some smoothies from Tropical Smoothie since it was still pretty hot and humid. We paid a small admission fee to go in- but I am all about supporting local artists. We checked out the dancing- we watched a few rounds and managed to get some on my "bloggie". The kids were pretty bored, I was kinda hoping there would have been more for the kids to do- but you cant win them all.

I did purchase this adorable hair clip from a local artist. I wanted to buy a couple of them babies- but just couldnt justify buying more than one. Hubby would kill me- although he did go to Busch Gardens all day with his friends. I got one one of these for $5, the bigger ones ranged from $10 to $12. These Hand-crafted Flower Hair clips can be found at Lucky Superstition

Matti picked out this one for me to get!

I ran into a couple I met before through Xotic Eyes, Brent and Michelle, they made our Xotic Eyes Wall of Tatas. They also have their own clothing company! Anyone looking for business cards, stickers, or banners- go to them! They do graphics here locally! They do some awesome work!

Check out their website here. And don't forget their Facebook!

I found an awesome local longboard skateboard company that I want to purchase a board from. These babies are sweet. I like to occasionally skateboard- longboard I prefer more because I like to coast.

The design of the board is slick and smart. Makes coasting and turning so much easier. I have my eye on this one. Here is Legendary Longboards website.

My good friends, Randy and Amber Templin were there running the entrance tent. Ive know Randy since high school, he is a successful tattoo artist who was at Studio Evolve and is now at Stained Studios. For his work tattoo work, you can friend him at Randy Templin Facebook

His wife Amber has a successful Baby Tutu Line called TooTu Fabulous! ADORABLE! She hand makes all of there and I believe she can do custom orders- but dont quote me! Go to her Facebook page and she has way more cute photos up than this one.

We had a good time hanging out. I always love to support us local artists! I hope you enjoyed coming along with me at this fun event! Don't forget to check out all these artists!
