Where do Cosmetologists shop?

Since attending RKA Paul Mitchell School, I have come to learn that many of the professionals and students go to a store called Cosmoprof for all their cosmetology needs.  Sure, many beauticians can go to Sally's or any other beauty store, but for the best items for the best prices, you wanna go here. I havent been there yet, mainly because I didnt know where it was at and just didnt have time, until my sweet husband told me that there was one right by our neighborhood. Wow, like how could I miss that????

I went in there after school and signed up with a student card, (which only licensed professionals or students are allowed to shop there). I browsed around for a few minutes to check out their inventory, and I got excited as I could picture all the possibilities for the future. I have already made a list of things I am planning to get, such as nail polishes, acrylic and gel nail sets, color brushes, color and products.

I have been trying to find beauty events or expos in this area that I could attend. There was one on New York this past weekend, but I am trying to find one in the Virginia Beach/Hampton Roads area, but it is nearly impossible :(  I did find out that there is a Bridal Expo this coming weekend at the Convention Center, so I might head out that way to see how it is, what new beauty products are out and Hairstyles that are new.

Here is some cool hairstyles I found while searching Hair Shows:

Fantasy Hair

This one is my Favorite!!!!! So unique!

I would love to be a platform artist at a show like this!

Gonna BITCHSLAP You!!!

I subscribe to a few girls on youtube, and for a while now, I have been watching Prettylilmzgrace:

And she turned me onto BitchSlap Cosmetics. I have been wanting to order some for a while, but just have not had time to. Since my ebay paypal gave me a refund on cosmetic case, I used that to buy a foundation from Bitchslap.

I wanted to get so many things, they have fabulous eyeshadows and fun palletes full of vibrant colors, they have accessories and all sorts of things. But for now, since I am just trying it out, I picked up a foundation:

It is an IVORY BEIGE foundation which cost $18. The shipping was $5 on top of that, but with youtube's makeup artist Prettylilmzgrace you can use her name as a coupon code and get 15% off, so that paid for shipping basically and soon it should be on its way. I cant wait to try it out and when I get it I will do a review.

That is it for my online shopping!

Thanks for stopping by!

Shopping Fix

Yesterday was a way better day!!!! Even though it was a lil rainy out, it was like the rain was washing away my worries! I picked up my husband from work, and he had great news! He may be picked to be assistant manager for the new produce department at Target, so that is so awesome!

Then, we headed over to this cute lil boutique, called Delightful Digs where I wanted to pick out a gift for my Aunt Beth who has been feeling a lil down, and I wanted to brighten up her day. This boutique has some really cute things in them, I really wanted to shop for myself, but I had to keep myself in check! lol I found a cute Quote that hangs on a wall, and I got it for her. She loved it! I wish I could remember the quote, or find it, but I cant :( I will have to take a picture of it when I see her again (which will be tuesday, when I go over there to do my cousins makeup and hair).

After this, my husband, my brother and I headed to Ihop for some grub! They ordered omelletes, while I ordered: Chicken & Waffles, a side of bacon and hashbrowns:

and I finished all my food, while both of them could not finish theirs!!!!! I wasnt even full either!

I dropped the boys off and headed to TJ MAXX to do a lil shoppin'. I found some great things, which I will make a haul video for. I also stopped by Walgreens, and grabbed a few more things...and I found a cute cosmetic bag, since my ebay cosmetic case was out of stock, but I found this:

I normally steer clear from Caboodles, but They have been coming out with cute cases and bags, so I couldnt stay a "hater". I am still building my make up kit, but for the makeup I do have right now, this bag is perfect! It fits everything and has cute pockets inside, I will do a video on this bag as well!

That was my day yesterday- alot better than saturday. I hope everyone has a great day and thanks for stopping by!

RAINY Day

Yesterday was prolly the most frustrating day while being at school.  We all have one of those days, and I guess it was my turn to have it. It just seemed like we were all running around doing twenty things at once. Saturdays are known to be really busy at our school, and I can usually handle it, but it just seemed very unorganized, and I am one that likes to write everything down in my planner. Geek status! I was so happy when the day was over. I just needed to vent out. So, now I am done!

Arabella posing in her fav hat (which is my fav hat too!)

I got to spend some mommy- daughter time with Arabella last night, we watched Toy Story 3. It was so cute! I love the Toy Story movies. I got to sleep in this morning, but running around yesterday, I somehow pulled a muscle in my neck and shoulder and I can only move in certain directions...which makes sleeping really difficult.

I woke up and checked my purchase from EBAY on that cosmetic case, and I got a message from the buyer that the item was out of stock and they refunded my money. :( so, I guess I am on the hunt for another cute makeup case. :( Maybe my mom will find one in Korea and ship it to me. LOL.

well, That is enough for now, sorry I am such a downer in this post......it will get better! and I will be back to my cheery self!!!!

Cosmetic Case

For weeks, I have been searching for a cosmetic makeup case, looking for the right one that fits "me", for my personality. Of course, I like to think bigger and go for the biggest and best case I can get such as:

But considering I dont have all my makeup and supplies yet to put in here, I would be kinda wasting space and money for now. So, I have to remind myself to start out small and build up from there. This is my ultimate goal once I am finished with Cosmetology school and I become a free lance stylist.

I was thinking about going more vintage and retro with the old hat box train cases, here is a few of my favs from ebay:

I found many more that I loved, but these were just a few. I have to keep in mind I only have some makeup, not a complete set, so its okay that I get something small and within my budget. I was going to get this one:

zebra print case

This one was only $30 with $6 shipping, not bad at all, but I went cheaper and got this:

This one is so cute and tiny, but big enough to hold the lil cosmetics I have. The link is above the picture, the seller has plenty of them. I think Its the perfect size for what I have, and its a silver aluminium case, which matches my paul micthell case, and it is black inside and there is even lil stars in the details of the outside, which was a sign for me to get it because I am obsessed with stars. Even my husband said to bid on it because it just fits me. Oh and the best part I love about this, besides fast shipping ( which will be in a few days) is that these come with a lock/key! So, I can protect my goodies inside!

Once I get it, I will post a video and do a review on it!!! Thanks for reading and stopping by! Goodnight!

The second part of my haul

Its raining outside and its a lil late, but I cannot sleep. :( I got back from my evening class at college a few hours ago and I am still trying to wind down. I got caught up with homework, and reading all my subscriptions blogs and all my youtube subscriptions, and still not tired yet. I am loading the second part of the shopping haul now as I type this, and as soon as it is loaded, I am off to bed and try to catch some zzzz's.

So, as I wait almost impatiently, I guess I will just ramble on about whatever pops into my head. I feel like there is a ka-jillion things swimming around in my head, and even though I use a planner to its full potential and plan everything out like a geek, I feel like I can never focus on one thing. Do you ever feel like that? Like you have too much going on? It's a wonder that I even get anything done at all! I have to remember to take one thing at a time and before I know it, I have checked everything off my "to-do-list" and yes I have one!

I am so glad I am not sick anymore, I had broncitis last week and have been on antibiotics since then and I do feel better. I was told at the doctor's though I have high cholesterol, so I am trying to curb my cravings for fast food, because I am a junk-food-aholic!!!! and I want to start running again.

I feel like I am writing too much, maybe its me from being delusional and in denial about being tired, so I will end this and will include the link to my latest upload, the second part of the haul. Enjoy and goodnight!

Girl Time with Family

After my Core fashion show, I cruised on over to my aunts house and picked up my cousins, and I was still in my "chola costume" from the show, and when my cousin answered the door, she screamed out, "Oh my God, you look like a chola, I thought some gangster girl was knockin on my door!" I told her that was the point! hehehehe

After I changed, (because I did not want to roll up to the mall in this), I took my cousins out to the mall, I wanted to get this anchor necklace from Charming Charlies, (which I will include in my next blog) which I absolutely LOVE!!!! We browsed around a few shops, like Forever21, which was just remodeled at our mall and it is now two stories high and just fabulous! I ended up buying some lavender scented makeup remover wipes. After that, we were STARVING! I took them to Johnny Rockets!

Marina and I have been here before, but Lauren has never been, so of course we went in and took seats at the counter, we put money in the juke box and selected "Heard it through the grapevice" but our jukebox must have been broken and it stole our nickle!!!! we still loved it and sang along to the other 50's throwback songs that were playing.

we all ordered root beer floats and burgers and fries! so Yummy! We had a great time!

me in love with the vanilla icecream in my float

marina who just got her braces off!!

Lauren with her first johnny rocket root beer float

They loved that I took them out, and said thank you and I told them that it was my pleasure, their mother used to take me out when I was younger, so I was just returning the favor. I told them that they will have to do these type of things with my daughter when she gets older! With family, remember it is the little things that mean the most! I hope everyone can find time to spend with their family, and if you cant at least call someone up and tell them you love them!

Burgers and root beer floats, your sweet surrender, Cecilia Marie

We made it through!

Part of the Rudy & Kelly Paul Mitchell  Cosmetology School, the first 6 weeks of attending is called CORE class. In this class we get a small taste of what we are going to learn while attending the school, such as haircutting, perms, relaxers, highlights, color and so much more.  We entered the class, about 20 of us on the first day, not knowing anything about each other and at the end of the 6 weeks, we became a family. It may sound cheesy, but its true. It is not very often that you get in a room full of women and we have a bond. We are all adults, there isnt any drama. Sure, we may get on each other's nerves but all in all we truely care about one another. When we are struggling, we know we can call on each other to help. These women I got to know, and I opened myself up to them and they accepted me, non judging and to me, that is the meaning of true friendship.

For our last week of CORE, we had to perform a practical, where we are tested on our skills that we had learned up to that point, and we also had a written test. We even had to do our first male haircut! But the highlight of our CORE was our last day, where we were able to hold a fashion show.

So as a group we came up with a theme: highschool cliques. We had cheerleaders, a geek, some gangstas, a few hippies and then the Plastics. Not everyone was comfortable being on stage and in front of a crowd, but everyone had a part. We all helped with hair and makeup and came up with a skit and it turned out awesome! I had it videorecorded but somehow youtube and FB will not load it. I will continue to try. But here are a few pictures

Thanks for taking the time to read and I hope you have a great day!

And speaking of hoarders, my mother hoards empty boxes!!!!!! Crazy, huh???? I know! I was cleanning out my old closet and my mom has alot of PartyLite boxes because she is a consultant and all the boxes were empty!!!!

Well, this will be a short post for now....off to go unpack!

A big Blur

I painted this last year and decided to give it to Lucy, a girl in my class
Alot has happened this week, I am sorry I havent blogged in a while, but this week has been so busy with classes in both schools, preparing for tests, taking hubby to work, spending time with the kids, and with my mom and brother leaving this week, it has been a lil hectic and I am stressing out a lil bit. One of my classmates told me today something I usually tell other people, but we rarely ever take our own advice, but she told me "Take one thing at a time" and I swear, a lil lightbulb went off in my head. I took a deep breath and exhaled.

My first cut!!!

The last week,  in Rudy & Kelly Paul Mitchell School, we finally learned how to cut hair, and then we had spa week where we learned how to do facials, manicures, pedicures and waxing! It was so much fun to finally learn these things. Who knew there was so much to cosmotology??? Also, a couple weeks ago, one of my classmates, Terry gave me this awesome "face" award ( face means giving recognition to someone) for my Sweet Surrender Blog! She painted and decorated a record, which was the soundtrack to Grease (which is one of my favorite movies)!

This week, my husband and I are moving back into mom's since she is moving to Korea for a year :( We had a Bon Voyage party for my mom last week along with my brother's bowling birthday party. Here's a couple pictures.

Me, Nick ( a friend from Rudy & Kelly we ran into) and my mom Bon Voyage

Lets go bowling!!!

That was my past week! Once I am all settled in and things have calmed down, I will write more when I can. Things to look forward to:  Shopping for a makeup kit, my new haircut, how to make a zebra fabric bullitin board!

I love my brothers!

Lucas and I at his birthday party

Jeffrey and I with our scary faces lol

My brothers and I are ALL 9 years apart. Crazy huh? I guess my mom wanted to make sure she always spaced us out and one of us could watch the other. hahaha well, thats our theory on  it. I am the oldest at 27 years of age, followed by Jeffrey who is 18 and then Lucas who just turned 10 a few days ago. We are all goofy, crazy, a lil sensitive, creative and we are all cheesy and love to be on camera. So here is a lil clip of us. Hope you enjoy!

I don't have any sisters, but I am pretty close with my brothers and that might be because I am a tomboy and I goof around and play video games and wrestle around. Even though were all far apart, and I didnt get to spend alot of time with them the past 10 years, because I left to go to the army and then I was moving around a ka-jillion times!

But i love these guys and I am proud to be their big sister.

Target Forever 21 Haul

I was able to squeeze some shopping in between classes and errands last week stopping into a few of my favorite stores such as Target , Five Below and Forever 21.

Here are a few of my favorite items I got:  In the picture above: this blue coat from Forever21 for only $12!!

and these jeans (ignore the goofy look on my face....lol) only $9 and they fit nicely, not too tight, not too loose and they do not shrink!  I hate when I buy a pair of good jeans and then they shrink from the dryer, so the past few years, I started to take care of my jeans. I wash them inside out ( this helps to keep your jeans from fading) and then I lay my jeans flat to dry.  Doing these lil tips will help to keep your jeans in good shape and extend the life of them.

So I made a lil video of what I bought on my lil haul video....The original video was 17 minutes...2 minutes over the limit so I had to split it into 2 parts. Here is part one above:

and here is part 2 below:

Hope you enjoy watching! Thanks for reading!

One way to wear black

At school, I have to wear black almost everyday.  I have been attending for almost a month and already I am scrambling around, throwing clothes around my floor and my bedroom, trying to decide new ways to wear the same black clothes I have.  I do not know how I am going to survive wearing black for the next 11 months.  Everytime our school has a spirit day where we can wear jeans or sneakers or a colorful shirt, I jump at the chance. My wardrobe has so many bright colors and fabrics. The good thing is our accessories can be whatever color, but unfortunately, I dont have too many accessories...YET. lol

So here is a video I made  on just ONE way that I wear black. Hope you enjoy! Have a great day!

Ever have one of those days?

I am having one of those days today. I am not sad or depressed, I am generally happy, but just exhausted.  Now that I am attending two schools, going monday through saturday and one onlne class, I feel like I never have any time. I mean, you should see my day planner....booked...it's ridiculous! and I don't even work right now!! I wouldnt even be able to fit work into my hectic schedule. I don't want to complain, because before school started, I was like "jeez, will school start already? I am bored!" It's not even that, I just need some rest time!

I want to be able to sleep in, I want to spend more time with my children, I want to spend time with my mother before she goes off to Korea for a year, I want to spend time with my husband, I want to get my nails done, I wanna relax on the couch all day and watch make up videos on youtube and geek out on an art project, I want to visit with my friends more. I want time to shave my legs!!!!! I want to work out, I want to shop.

I feel like there are not enough hours in the day, and I don't have enough hours of sleep to get through each day. It's like a never ending battle. But this is life and I dont want to take anything for granted, I appreciate all that life throw's my way, all I want is some down time, for me to recharge my batteries. I have to remember that these rough times will pay off, I just have to hang in there. Every thing happens for a reason, I may not see that now, but later I will.

I just wanted to send that out to the universe so it's not bottled up in me anymore. So, thanks for reading and I hope everyone has an awesome week!

Polly Want A Cracker?

So here's a video that one of our learning leaders posted of us during a communication exercise...we were all blindfolded and was told we were a specific animal...and that we had a "partner" and we had to find them using only the sound that our animal makes...and we couldnt talk at all. It was really funny and our learning leader, Christina is the one laughing really loud!

I am the one in the beginning walking around with a yellow bandana and pink earrings....and then once I found my partner ..oh I was a monkey....lol I started screaming like a monkey too....lol watch as the rest of the class stumbles to find their animal partner!

We do fun stuff like this everyday...makes learning about hair really fun!

World Market Haul

on our way to Newport News to World Market

About a week or two ago, my mom and I and a friend went out to World Market in search of things to decorate mom's place when she gets to Korea.  My mom and I love to decorate, and sometimes our styles are different, we do every now and then agree on something that is really cute! But hey, that's mother for you!

So, what I found at World Market was a really cute director's chair that I got in white and I picked a purple canvas....the chair itself was $17.99 and the canvas was $8. I also found a metal candle holder that is silver and hot pink on the inside!!! and when you put a candle in it, the design on the holder projects the beautiful design. I love it!!!

My first visit to World Market last year

And then there's the desk, which is all white and has legs similar to the directors chair. I know some of you prolly think I am such a geek for being so excited about a desk...but if you knew me well enough, you would know I get excited about alot of weird stuff, like second hand stores, rainy days, sugar donuts, a lady bug....yea it may seem I am totally random, but like the quote i found online, I will say this: " I am not random, my brain is just faster than yours!"..ok, getting off subject, the desk was $180 all white finish and it just looks so crisp in my blue room, I feel so inspired already by it. I am one of those artists that has to have everything all set up before I can begin anything, whether it is a drawing, a painting, a design, or whatever, yes, I have to have my pencils all in a row, my books stacked up and the tv on for back ground music and of course, DR. Pepper. lol call me crazy but this is how I roll!

Topsy Turvy Day

Today, our family celebrated the birth of my daughter, Arabella. She turned 7 years old yesterday, but we celebrated today. A few days ago, the kids and I made all the layers of the cake! We made 2 layers of yellow cake, 1 layer of brownie, and then 2 layers of french vanilla! I even attempted to try and make fondant out of marshmellows.....which was fun making, but very sticky and hard to roll....so I ended up going to Micheal's and buying the already made fondant in purple, hot pink and white.

Everyone loved the cake, and it was alot of fun making it! Arabella had a good birthday and I am so thankful I was able to spend time with my children. I hope that they will remember all the special times we share together. My mom and I loved it as well, we were able to get a taste of what it would be like to bake these crazy outrageous cakes...because she is possibly thinking about opening up a bakery once she gets back from Korea and she retires from the navy.
The best part of today was just hanging out with the kids, we played Spongebob Squarepants Operation...and Matthias beat us all in both games that we played! I even painted Matthias as a clown! He loved it and so did Jermie! I am hoping the Circus is gonna be coming in the spring because the kids have never been....(random thought I know) and then driving them back to their dad's, they were singing "Paparazzi" by Lady Gaga....( I think my kids love her just as much as I do!) lol
well, that was my day, so I will close this up and get back to eating the rest of my piece of leftover topsy turvy cake and dr. pepper and watching Jerseyliscious. hehehehe

Time flies when your'e having fun!

I havent been on lately to blog all week! The new semester started last monday and then the next day, Tuesday my classes started at The Rudy & Kelly Paul Mitchell Cosmetology School! I am so in love with this school! The energy and the atmosphere is so amazing, I feel so motivated to go and I feel like I am on the right path towards being successful and making a name for myself. Everyday I learn something new and I meet awesome people everyday. I have a big "kit" filled with combs, blow dryer, straightener, clips in a sleek carrying case. I feel so professional!

Me posing with my doll, I named her Lily....which is my fav flower!!!

Being at two schools is exhausting and trying to balance my schedule and my husbands and of course spending quality time with the kids! Arabella's 7th birthday is coming up and I am planning on baking a topsy turvy cake......and so I will be posting a video on that too!

Sorry this post is short, but I am afraid this is all I can pump out because I am catching another cold :(

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Coming soon to a computer screen near you!

I finally edited my first video and posted it on youtube. This is a new year and its time for new adventures! I wanted to start a youtube channel for a few months now. I subscribe to so many people and I enjoy watching videos, so I thought "Why not?". I have always loved making videos when I was a kid, in fact I made a rather embarrasing reinactment of the Spice Girl Movie when I was 15.....that my mom tries to use to blackmail me. hahahaha!

I am going to be posting a lot of different things...from painting, makeup, hair and other arts and crafts, maybe some shopping hauls. I am very excited about it and hope people will like to watch it.

The next video I am editing should be ready tomorrow (I am hoping!) I also have the school starting on Monday, so I am trying to get everything done. Be on the look out!

Cheers to the New Year! 2011

Happy New Year!!!!! 2011

Happy New Year to everyone! I hope everyone had a safe and fun holiday! New Year's was fun for Jermie and I, this was our first New Years actually doing something. Last year, we didnt go out, so this year we went out to a friend's house for a small get together. We wanted to go dancing at a club, but the cover charges are ridiculous!!! or the new slang i keep hearing...re-donkulus, hahahaha weird. I didnt drink on New Years..although I wish I could say the same about Jermie.....lol check out his drunken stare in this picture! hehehehehehe

Right after we kissed at midnight! lol

For some reason, I have been into doing blue eyeshadow so, of course I dressed in blue and black. We had fun hanging out with old friends but as soon as it was midnight, we were ready to go. hahahaha. Thankfully we dont live far from where we were at.

Reading up on all the blogs I follow...and videos on youtube that I watch, everyone is posting about their New Year's Resolution. I cant remember if I have already mentioned it, but my New Year's Resolution is to save money, because Jermie and I want to buy a house, or a townhouse. I can never have just one resolution....so another resolution is to continue doing good in college and to complete my training at the Rudy & Kelly Paul Mitchell Cosmetology School. I should be finished with the program by November. I am so excited because once I am completed with that, I will be able to start actually making a name for myself as a stylist and make up artist and start doing things that I love, such as painting, art, fashion, style, cooking, sewing, make up and so much more.

can barely see it, but my eye shadow is a purty blue!

My last resolution is that I want to make videos on youtube and make my blog more public. A part of me is nervous to do that, mainly because I am terrified that no one will watch or read it, or that they will find me incredibly boring....but I think it will be fun to post videos on sewing and make up and hair tricks....Who knows? So, I want to start that too. We will see. My schedule is gonna be busy enough going to two schools, and being a mom and a wife and whew....but I can handle it!

So here is to 2011, may ALL YOUR GOALS AND DREAMS BE TURNED INTO REALITY WITH HARD WORK AND DETERMINATION!

With hope and dreams of the future, Ce Cilia Marie
